TTB Backstage at New York Fashion Week: Bobbi Brown for Billy Reid

Polished perfection.

Fashion Show: Billy Reid Spring 2013

Backstage Beauty:   Hair styled by Tresemme and Makeup by Bobbi Brown

The Rundown for hair: Polished, perfect and expensive – three words used over and over to describe the looks at Billy Reid.   Matthew Curtis, key hair stylist for Tresemme, explained the look as a girl with “inherant wealth” who has an effortless beauty courtesy of a “good gene pool”.   Hair was curled, pinned at the top of the head to set, and then brushed out section by section to give a smooth, soft finish.   After parting the hair subtlely to the left, artists then sprayed Tresemme Shine Spray on soft bristle brushes and ran through the hair to loosen the waves.   The result was beautiful, classic and easy to translate to real life.

The Rundown on Beauty:   The makeup looks conveyed the same theme of luxe wealth, with a  “peaches and cream” complexion and matte skin.     “These are perfect looking girls that get up in the morning looking great” described Brown on the look executed by her and her team.   “It’s expensive, beautiful and a little southern.”   Gold lids framed by lots of mascara and no liner created a beautiful look for the eyes.   Using the Bobbi Brown Antigua Bronzer on the cheeks, the skin had a subtle warmth with lite flecks of shimmer.   A hint of bronzy gold transparency on the lips using the Sunlit Nude cheek/lip  tint rounded out the super wearable look.
