Lipstick Queen New Release: CHINATOWN Glossy Pencils

Without a doubt or a split second for  hesitation, my absolute favorite lipstick brand is Lipstick Queen. Huge statement, I know. But its THAT serious!

Last year (Click HERE for the article) I introduced ThisThatBeauty readers to Poppy King, founder and creator of Lipstick Queen. Poppy  views lipstick as a sacred and time  honored  female ritual.  I agree and have always admired women who are able to whip out a tube of lipstick, artfully apply the shade, and transform their look into something incredibly chic and polished. Ahhh, to be a Lipstick Queen.

Lipstick Queen started its collection with a core line of ten colors, each offered in a sheer and opaque shade. Since LQ’s launch of the core line, they have grown the family tree with the addition of Exact Match Lip Liners, Medieval Tinted Treatment, Big Bang Illusion Gloss, OxyMoron Matte Gloss for Lip/ Cheek, Shine (a hardcore gloss), and Black Tie Optional…a beautiful BLACK gloss that must be experienced to truly understand and appreciate!

Well folks, I am as happy as a littleneck clam to introduce my ThisThatBeauty readers to Lipstick Queen’s latest collection –

Mmmmm Mmm. Shut your mouth and hold the phone. This is serious business girls!  CHINATOWN  Glossy Pencils are inspired by the neighborhood of the LQ headquarters, which is on the border of Chinatown and Tribeca. The Glossy Pencils are also inspired by one of Poppy’s favorite movies, Roman Polanski’s Chinatown.

I recently had the opportunity to visit with Poppy and her Marketing Director, Cara, in their Chinatown/Tribeca office. While walking from  the subway to LQ headquarters, I was able to get a glimpse of Poppy’s inspiration. Their neighborhood is truly a fascinating place filled with wonder, excitement, and a sprinkle of kookiness.

Its always a blast when visiting LQ. My last visit was particularly satisfying because I got to play with the eagerly anticipated CHINATOWN collection.

Poppy describes CHINATOWN Glossy Pencils as:

“Bright…Super sheer…Super moisturizing…”

Each Glossy Pencil comes with a jumbo sized sharpener. All of the names are inspired by the Polanski film:

Here I am below sporting two of my  CHINATOWN favs….and I gotta tell ya, you will find it as hard as Chinese Arithmetic to choose just one shade.

My advice: Grab all five and toss a different color in your purse everyday. You  definitely  want these fun shades in your Spring/Summer gloss line up! These are incredibly unique gloss pencils…there’s nothing else out there like CHINATOWN. I know how much you love being in “the know” and on the  cutting  edge. Oh go on girl, get all five!!!

Crime – Applied sheer…one coat

So what do you think of the shades and the concept? Neat, huh? Who’s clicking HERE to buy CHINATOWN?
