Z. Cavaricci, the iconic 80’s brand that was once best known for front pleat acid wash jeans, is set to re-introduce the line this Spring. During Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week I was invited to view the collection at The Bryant Part Hotel (I had a Mad Men celeb sighting on the elevator. Nice!).
Not sure what to expect of the brand, I must confess that I was pleasantly surprised. The trend inspired plus size collection is refreshingly modern and punctuated with influences from the runway. Rivets, zippers, and tastefully placed studs adorn fashion forward jumpers, deconstructed tanks, and distressed tops. The Spring collection incorporates high quality Japanese fabrics in a variety of cuts and washes. Frugalista priced under $100, the collection includes jeans, jumpers, tops, vests, shoes, bracelets, and sunglasses. While the entire collection offers thoughtfully edited variety that I am certain the Z. Cavaricci consumer will enjoy, in my opinion, the hero pieces are the sunglasses and tees. While I am not a plus size woman, I found myself coveting several pieces during the presentation…and given my current affinity for tunics, I’m darn certain I can pull off quite a few tops from Z. Cavaricci’s Spring collection.
Here I am wearing a pair of Z. Cavaricci sunglasses. We like?:)
