Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics is changing your opinion of mineral makeup. While at The LA Makeup Show I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with Youngblood Cosmetics. I was particularly interested in spending time with the brand because I have had very little success with mineral makeup.
A few years back I had tried the “Swirl. Tap. Buff†folks but grew tired of the “Swirl. Tap. Buff†mess all over my bathroom sink. Also, the product did not work well with my skin in non-Summer months. Anyhoo, from there I pretty much moved away from mineral makeup…but secretly I’ve been wanting to uncover a mineral makeup gem and shine light on a brand that hits the nail on the head.
Please allow me to grab my spotlight and direct it towards Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.
Pauline Youngblood Soli developed her mineral foundation in a medical setting specifically for patients recovering from harsh medical procedures. Clean and lightweight, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics allow the skin to breathe, and wont clog pores or cause irritation.
Youngblood’s milling process, natural shade selection, and flawless finish make Youngblood ideal for Hi Def application.
Youngblood offers a wide array of concealer, blush, eye shadow, lip color, and mineral foundation (both powder and cream formula). The foundation is incredibly natural looking and will accurately match a wide variety of skin tones. Some mixing and matching may be required. My complexion kit is the Dark kit and my exact match is a sprinkle of toffee and a sprinkle of coffee 🙂
While at the Youngblood booth I learned lots of cool tips and tricks for using their mineral foundation. The coolest trick I learned was to mix the mineral powder foundation with my fav SPF, and VOILA – tinted moisturizer with SPF. How cool is that? Man, this is such a cool trick..and I’m all over it for summer!
ThisThatBeauty Picks –
“ThisThatBeauty Picks†are my personal favs…products that I consider collection “standouts”.
Mineral Primer – Creates a flawless canvas for mineral makeup application.
Minerals in the Mist – You had me at the word “mistâ€. I am a huge fan of facial sprays. Minerals in Mist hydrate the skin and lock in moisture with three signature vitamin and mineral enriched facial mists. I dare you to choose just one from the three intoxicating scents and formulas:
- Refresh: Citrus, Tangerine and Grapefruit
- Restore: Citrus, Grapefruit, Lime and Rosemary
- Recharge: Spearmint, Peppermint, Ginger and Lime
Ultimate Concealer – This beautifully flawless concealer comes in two shades and is enriched with Vitamin C and E to help minimize the appearance of dark circles and fine lines. Ultimate Concealer also contains Allantoin to stimulate the growth of healthy tissues and Jojoba Esters to prevent dryness.
Lunar Dust – Light-reflecting mineral dusting powder is absolutely gorg when mixed with body lotion and applied to decolletage, arms, and legs.
Promiscuous Lip Gloss – Pretty Spring Color Alert! Yum! The color is described as a “sexy shade of sweet watermelonâ€.
Crushed Mineral Blush in Cabernet – BROWN GIRL BLUSH ALERT! Try Cabernet, you WILL NOT be disappointed. See my pics below.
In the pics below I am wearing:
FACE:
- Mineral Primer
- Natural Mineral Foundation. Used a combination of Toffee and Coffee from the DARK Foundation Sampler Kit

Your skin looks gorgeous! I have not had much luck with MMU b/c it tends to make me look flaky.
