It’s no surprise that I’ve been paying much closer attention to labels these days. With Baby Benson on board, I can’t be too careful (I mean, she’s heir to my ThisThatBeauty empire!!). So while visiting Paris, I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to get to know Patyka. During my five-day Beauty Tour, I had dinner with Patyka’s President, Pierre, and visited the Patyka Boutique at Printemps.
I’ve tried many times (unsuccessfully) to embrace organic skin care. I get it I get it!. . . organic is generally better for you because it’s free of “bad-for-you” chemicals and such. . . blah, blah, blah. Gotcha! But what about product efficacy? I am all for going the greener route, but at the end of the day, I am also (slightly) vain and I need to uphold a certain aesthetic. I don’t want wrinkly eyes or a creased forehead. . . .well not at the tender age of thirty-something. I’ll gladly take my well earned lines of life, at say, 65, but for now, I look to highly effective skin care products to slow down the hands of time. And, generally, I’ve found very few organic skin care products that deliver the results I desire. So when learning of Patyka, a high-performing line of organic skincare, fragrance and bath and body, well — I had questions.
I first learned of Patyka a couple of years ago and began using their body care products, but had yet to venture into their skincare. So after spending time with the brand in Paris, I decided to take the plunge and commit to a few items for a six week period.
Since returning from Paris I’ve been regularly using:

RADIANT EYE CONTOUR: Specifically created for the demanding eye contour area, the targeted chronobiological Radiant Eye Contour skin care product is a unique combination of more than 10 active ingredients with natural anti-aging and anti-fatigue properties. It brightens, relieves congestion, smooths, lifts, and is an excellent make-up base. Signs of fatigue are immediately corrected, the eyes’ radiant glow is infinitely preserved.
Of the three products, one is a clear winner and another is a definite keeper.
RADIANT EXFOLIATING MASK is the clear winner. First of all, you had me at “Radiant”. Anything that promises radiant skin is immediately a cause for pause. I firmly belief that bright, luminous skin is the ultimate sign of youth. Even with a few lines and wrinkles, skin that is vivid, hydrated and bright appears more youthful. I love that RADIANT EXFOLIATING MASK delivers the aforementioned attributes with just one use. The mostly organic (99.55% of ingredients from natural origin &
71.40% of ingredients from organic agriculture) brightening mask is formulated with Avocado, Jojoba, and Sesame oil to moisturize, and Soft Fruit Acids and Bamboo Extract to exfoliate. The moisturizing and exfoliating dual action delivers immediate brightness, visible hydration, and a fresher complexion. As for the ROSE FACE TONER, I must, firstly, admit that I am a sucker for a good toner. I believe in the skin balancing, treatment, and prep properties of facial toners….so I am naturally drawn to this soothing, rose water based lotion. I tend to have very oily, acne prone skin, so the soothing, anti-inflammatory nature of rose is a big help. I highly recommend ROSE FACE TONER for most skin types, but I 100% recommend it for super sensitive, acne prone, or easily inflamed skin.
While the RADIANT EYE CONTOUR is certainly comforting and hydrating, I don’t think I’ve used it long enough to speak to its cumulative benefits. I can say that my eye area has experienced no adverse reactions as a result of use. As for smoothing lines and relieving the look of fatigue, I think I’ll be in a better position to evaluate this claim after Baby Benson arrives. *WINK* ..so let’s just say I’ll keep you posted!
BOTTOM LINE: Based upon my six-week trial of the aforementioned Patyka products, I am giving the botanically based skin care line my seal of approval. Partnered with a modern sensibility, innovative technology, and efficacious delivery systems, this organic skin care line proves that it can deliver results on par with its non-organic competitors.
