TTBFaves with Tiffany: Best of Beauty 2014

Last year I used plenty of products  but I only claim a few of them as my absolute favorites. Read on to see my Best of Beauty 2014 Picks and discover products you definitely need to try.

Best of beauty 2014 - TD

Urban Decay BB Cream –  I just started using Urban Decay’s BB Cream, but it’s quickly become one of the best primers I’ve ever used. The BB cream  contains SPF 20, along with excellent hydrating properties. $34

NARS Blush in “Torrid” –  This blush is my go to for everyday face. A few swipes of “Torrid” pigment across my cheeks and I feel as if my face has transformed. It also has great staying power for all-day wear, and works well on medium to darker complexions. $30

OCC Lip Tar Test Tubes –  I absolutely love this brand because they’re 100% vegan and cruelty-free.  The Lip Tars are excellent — they glide  on effortlessly after the application of Lip Primer. The colors are brilliant and are able to last through meals or drinks. $29

Boscia Clear Complexion Cleanser  –  As soon as I tried Boscia’s line of products I  became hooked. I have never used any other face wash that cleared up my acne-prone skin the way the brand’s Clear Complexion Cleanser has. AMAZING for oily skin. $26

Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural Conditioner – I’ve always been a fan of Pantene Pro-V. It  distributes smoothly through hair, conditions nicely, detangles and leaves a pleasant scent afterward. $6.99

Organix Argan Oil of Morocco,  Weightless Healing Dry Oil –  This by far is my favorite oil to use when I’m on the go and looking to add a bit of quick sheen to my hair. Organix Argan Oil smooths out split ends and tames fly-aways and frizzy hair with ease. $7.49

Vaseline  – My  body care routine is pretty simple so the Vaseline brand is a no-brainer in my arsenal.  One of my favorites is the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Lotion.  It quickly absorbs into my skin and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue. The fresh, clean scent is an added bonus.  $8.59

Roses de Chloé by  Chloé –  I’ve been a big fan of Chloé’s line  of various perfumes, including its namesake, but one of  the brand’s newest scents, Roses de Chloé, gives a fresh take on their signature soft, floral perfume notes. I guarantee, this perfume will have you smelling  better than a bouquet of fresh cut roses. $95

Unlimited Confidence by The Limited –  For a more affordable fragrance option, I’m all about The Limited’s signature perfume. The scent comes in a rollerball or 1.7 ounce bottle, and offers a feminine, yet sophisticated scent that isn’t overpowering, but still memorable once you enter a room. It’s the perfect scent for transitioning from day to night.

Essie Nail Color –  Essie (in virtually any color) is my favorite nail polish. Polishes are easily accessible and come in a variety of fun colors & names, and at an affordable price. A few of my favorites include: Fifth Avenue, Butter Please, and Mink Muffs. $8.50 each

  • I thought nothing could penetrate oil and you mentioned you apply moisturizer after the boscia oil. Am I wrong?

    • I think you commented on the wrong post. 🙂 Did you mean to leaveyour comment here? https://thisthatbeauty.com/2015/01/ttbfaves-with-christene-best-of-beauty-2014/

I generally apply the most active product first — in this case the oil. I apply to damp skin and press it in. Layering the moisturizer over it leaves my skin feeling (and looking) better than when I do the reverse. I can’t say there is a wrong way to apply face oils, since you can mix it into your moisturizers and serums. If it works best for you to apply your moisturizer first, then you should continue doing that (I do that on my body). Hope this helps.
