L’Oreal Ideal Skin Genesis Complexion Equalizer Day/Night Cream makes the promise that it will even out skin tone, while making skin’s appearance visibly smoother and more luminous. The non-greasy daily treatment with Vitamin C and tourmaline gem…that’s right – like the jewel – is said to help pull pollutants from the skin. Vitamin C is used to inhibit the production of the melanin, in turn lightening/ brightening the skin. According to L’Oreal, “around the age of 30, skin’s cellular renewal process begins to slow down, accentuating the uneven colors of skin tone and excess pigmentation.   Skin loses its natural evenness, clarity and brightness”.

Prior to trying L’Oreal Ideal Skin Genesis Complexion Equalizer Day/Night Cream for this review, I took the time to research a few reviews on the web. Based on my findings, while it seems the product might be better suited for individuals with dry skin, I threw caution to the wind and applied the product to my oily, acne-prone skin for four straight weeks…I emerged breakout free!

In testing L’Oreal Ideal Skin Genesis Complexion Equalizer Day/Night Cream, I got impatient around week 2 because I didn’t notice any significant changes. Luckily I had the good sense to stick it out for the recommended four weeks.

Lots of products make the claim of “bright even tone” so I was skeptical upon first eyeing the unassuming lightly scented dream cream. However, at the 3-week mark I noticed that I was using less concealer to even out my complexion and camouflage blemishes. As someone with excessively oily skin, in using L’Oreal Ideal Skin Genesis Complexion Equalizer Day/Night Cream, I was pleased to discover that the product left my skin well hydrated and balanced without a heavy feeling. The product lives up to its brightening claim and provides oily skin with moisture without the breakout.

Since my title at ThisThatBeauty is “Newbie Contributor” and I write from a newbie point of view, I’m wondering if the $19.99 price tag makes this product accessible for skin care newbies out there. Fortunately L’Oreal products are available at all major drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc…my advice is to look out for coupons and BUY ONE GET ONE offers that seem to pop up every Sunday!
