I was recently invited to the L’Oreal Studio to try the EverCreme line of products and more specifically — L’Oreal’s first ever cleansing condition. I was a bit apprehensive to agree to the blowout knowing that my hair was more than 60% natural and that it would take at least an hour to blow it out after washing. Fast forward 1 hour and 30 minutes later, and I was done with my blow out. See the transition below.

After the wash my hair did not feel stripped or squeaky, it was soft and required no special detangler to get the blow out process started. My stylist used L’Oreal EverCreme Nourishing Leave-in Spray in sections, to keep the hair damp during the blow out process. At the end of the blow out my hair was extremely soft and had a good amount of sheen and body. One person referred to it as “Anchor hair,” i.e. news anchors, possibly from the early 90s 🙂
I loved the results so much that I used the EverCreme Cleansing conditioner for my next wash, but followed the stylist direction to use the EverCreme Deep Nourishing Masque to boost the moisture in my hair and help strengthen it. This time, I dried my hair with a blow dryer and flat ironed it. The results were not the same as they were with the blow out but my hair was still soft and manageable.
On my next wash I also used the EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner, but this time I cut off all straight ends before styling (a new looks was on the way!). I let my hair dry naturally and then I damp twisted it using a moisturizing mist (review coming soon). My curls lasted for a week with one re-twist. What was more important for me, is that my scalp was not dry or flaky. My hair was a little dull by week four but my scalp was great!
The entire EverCreme line is formulated without sulphates and heavy coating waxes, instead, it is formulated with nourishing botanicals that contain omega 3 and 6 and a triple action conditioning system to moisturize, naturally. According to the manufacturer, the Cleansing Condition is three parts conditioner and one part shampoo. Though formulated for all hair types, I think this cleansing and treatment system that focuses on moisture retention makes L’Oreal EverCreme line excellent for dry, kinky curly, frizzy hair like mine.
On my next wash I will use a clarifying shampoo on my ends to remove any buildup and follow up with the Cleansing Conditioner and Nourishing Masque.
It is important to follow the directions of the product manufacturer, but you should also listen to your hair (sounds crazy, but you should.) EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner is now a staple in my hair care regimen. L’Oreal EverCreme products have a starting price under $7 and are available wherever hair care products are sold.
