Mehron products are commercially known for theatrical, television, motion picture, education, video, opera, Halloween and face painting application. Under Studio and Stage Make-up, Mehron recently launched CelebrÃ© Pro HD Makeup. Of the product the brand says:

“CelebrÃ© PRO-HD Makeup Foundation is an oil-free and fragrance-free cream make-up that delivers satin-smooth, buildable coverage that is non-greasy and great for all skin types.â€

The main ingredient in CelebrÃ© Pro HD foundation is Propylene Glycol. It also contains antioxidants such as vitamin E, pomegranate and aloe vera to soothe the skin. Propylene Glycol is often used to absorb excess water and maintain moisture in some medicines and cosmetics. I tried the HD foundation in shades Dark 1, 2, 3 and 4. The foundation has a smooth silky feel and glides onto the skin with ease.

So, what is all the rage with High Definition makeup? HD foundation’s claim to fame is that it provides full, lightweight coverage that can withstand harsh light from cameras without pores and fine lines being magnified. HD makeup contains photochromatic particles or light reflectors, that blur fine lines, minimize pores and hide imperfections.

The most challenging part of applying this foundation was trying to mix and match to find shade that worked for my skin tone. This is foundation is labeled “Cebre HD PROâ€ and I’m not even an amateur star, so, that might explain it.

The coverage is lightweight and because I was using all four shades (Dark, 1, 2, 3 and 4) I was able to get the coverage I needed without using a concealer.

After a bit of trial and error, I was able to match my skin. I read somewhere that the best way to tell if a foundation matches your skin tone is to test it on the jawline, hence the picture below.

Be warned, a tiny amount of this product goes a long way. I applied a primer underneath the foundation but I suspect it would work just fine without the primer. I used a translucent finishing powder to set the foundation and dusted on a bit of blush (I didn’t want to look too washed out.) I have oily skin so after a couple of hours I had more than a healthy glow. I used blotting paper to keep my shine under control.
