This post was sponsored by GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Diligently caring for skin is 100% my thing. I’ve basically built a thriving blog and brand on my passion for helping others achieve their skincare goals. So, for over 10 years, I’ve pretty much tried it all — for face. But when it comes to “bodyâ€â€¦ehh, I sometimes fall short.
MY TRUTH
The skin below my neck is embarrassingly dry, especially during the winter. But as a seasoned beauty girl, I have my arsenal of tips and tricks for addressing the chicken skin on my legs — *sigh.* But it’s a daily chore of showering with a moisturizing body wash, blotting skin partially dry, applying a DIY almond oil/lotion concoction, then waiting 15 minutes to dry thoroughly before layering a bit more almond oil to seal in the moisture, and then waiting a few more minutes before getting dressed. Phew! It’s a lot. Right? Right! Who has time for that every day? Well, I do what I have to do to keep my arms and legs soft. So you will understand why I was more than willing to test out a time-saving alternative — GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™. Listen, I love to cocktail and DIY my beauty products every now and again, but sometimes there’s just no time. Luckily, GOLD BOND ® – a brand that has been solving tough skin care issues for over 100 years – developed this new product for healthy-looking, hydrated skin.
HELP IS ON THE WAY
Based on the ingredients, GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ looks like a good catchall for visibly dry skin. For starters, it’s a cream oil infused with a triple blend of coconut oil, cocoa butter and African shea butter. Truthfully, it sounds like an all-in-one version of what I’m currently doing (and wasting 15-20 minutes of my morning doing).
While testing GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ for two weeks, I came up with two key things that needed to happen:
1) Melt into skin. I’ve tried plenty of rich body creams that indeed hydrate thoroughly…but the cardio type rubbing that needs to happen is exhausting.
2) Last all day…because re-application is not an option (I’m very busy!)
So, for about two weeks, I applied GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ from the neck down and here are my observations:
BOTTOM LINE
A “cream oil†is sort of genius. I’ve used creams, and I’ve used oils, and I’ve mixed oils with my creams — But a blended cream oil answers my dry skin wishes. I love that the oil and butters in GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ (coconut oil, cocoa butter and African shea butter) are ingredients that I’m already familiar with. I mean, I’m all for new exotic discoveries, but I also love tried and true ingredients formulated to work in a new way. The decadent moisturizer applies flawlessly and immediately quenches my thirsty skin. Initially, I thought I’d need to give the cream oil time to absorb before getting dressed, but GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ melts in right away. There’s never any residue on my clothes or an icky film on my skin. My arms and legs feel soft to the touch and even look a bit glowier …which I suspect is due to the (gentle!) exfoliating properties in the product that help remove dead, dry skin cells that can cause skin to look flaky.
If you’re tired of mixing, slathering, layering and reapplying your body care products, you might want to give GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ a whirl. Trust me, it’ll make your mornings infinitely easier. Just apply, get dressed and go! It keeps visibly dry skin from coming back all day, so you can focus on being your best self. And if you still love to DIY your body care concoctions, that’s cool — that’s what Self Care Sunday is for!
GOLD BOND ® Ultimate Radiance Renewal™ is new to the market, but widely available in the skin care aisle at your fav major retailers like Walmart, Target and Walgreens.
I’ll check this out – my skin is always thirsty.
Almost bought this one, but got the one for Eczema instead. I’m going bank to go get it . Thanks for confirming it works .
Awesome sauce! This would be my first time trying a cream oil and I’m really looking forward to it. My below the neck skin needs some moisture.
Haha! I definitely can relate to the “chicken skin†on my legs. It’s runs in my family. I’m gonna try this product and let you know how it works for me…
