And just like that, the holiday shopping season is upon us. The most wonderful time of the year is here and your arm’s length holiday list won’t shop for itself (sadly, it really won’t). And seeing as you’re probably not independently wealthy (if you are, can we please be friends?!) you’re probably going to need a little help navigating the shopping scene to make sure your dollar does le most!

And as luck would have it, the bargain-savvy folks at TJX have asked me to take on weekly gifting missions (#TheGifter) and share my finds with you. Oh, fun! I love to shop. . . I love sharing. . . and I love saving money when I shop. I mean, trifecta much?
*squeal*
So here’s how it all works:
1. Every week I will accept a Marshalls shopping mission.
2. Once I have my shopping orders (OK, again *squeal* FUN!!!) I will scour local Marshalls stores and scout out the best gift ideas for the respective mission.
3. Each week I will announce my mission on the blog. This week’s mission is “Outgift the Ungiftable“. . . you know, a gift for the person who has everything. Sigh — aka the toughest person in the world to shop for! But stick with me and I’ll help you crack the code on hard-to-shop for friends. Watch me work!
4. As I complete my weekly #TheGifter mission, I will document every step of my in-store experience on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.
Sounds super exciting right? BUT HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE, TOO!
While out and about doing your holiday shopping, share your fab finds and include hashtag #TheGifter to be entered to win a $500 TJX gift card. One winner will be selected each week…why not you?!
Well, it’s Sunday and I’m off to start my shopping. I’m planning to hit my local Marshalls in Kearny, NJ and possibly one in West Caldwell. When thinking about this week’s mission, “Outgift the Ungiftable“, I’m keeping the following strategy in mind:
> Think “replenishment gifts“. As in, what kinds of things do people use all year and probably need to replenish by the time the holidays roll around?
> Think “trend“. As in, splurge on a trend item that the recipient might not normally buy…you know, an of-the-moment item that would be nice to receive as a treat. Because everything at Marshalls is 20-60% less than what I’d pay in a department store, I’m pretty sure I can find really cool on-trend stuff for a fraction of the original price.
Ok, well I’m off…follow me on Instagram and Twitter @ThisThatBeauty #TheGifter
shop, shop, shop…
