As Valentine’s Day rapidly approaches, I find myself contemplating one major aspect —beauty! Sigh, the burden to go the distance. Of course we’re beautiful the other 364 days in the year, but something about Valentine’s Day softly whispers “up the ante“. And if you are anything like me (insert: uncontrollable laziness) there are a lot of days that you simply don’t feel like getting all #TeamGlam. But help is here! Read on as I share the ultimate lazy girl’s guide to adding a little pizzazz to your V-day beauty routine – with the least amount of effort exerted. Thank me in the morning….
Hair
Try a wavy hairdo that works while you sleep. Before you go to bed, add your favorite leave-in conditioner to hair — we’re big fans of Pantene Pro-V’s Relaxed and Natural Oil Creme Moisturizer ($4.49, Walgreens.com). Part hair in the direction you prefer, and then braid hair into various sections. After braiding, wrap your hair with a satin scarf or cap. Right before you’re set to leave, unravel your braids to reveal an easy, carefree hair do. You can also twist your waves into a sleek chignon with a pop of texture. TTB Tip: The more sections of braids you do, the smaller and tighter your waves will be in the morning.
Nails
Who needs to decorate an entire nail? You’ll save time by just accenting the tip of each of your nails with an easy, red heart that’s perfect for V-Day. Just gather a top and base coat, like Essie’s “All in One,” ($10, essie.com), and your favorite red. We’re currently loving OPI’s “Big Apple Red,” ($6.37,Walmart.com), or Nail Inc.’s Galaxy line in “Buckingham Court,” ($7,Sephora.com) for some extra glitter.
Step 1:
Brush entire nail with base coat and let dry.
Step 2:
Carefully outline a small, curved “v” shape toward the tip of your nail, then fill in completely creating a heart.
Step 3:
Let nails dry before brushing entire nail with topcoat.
Makeup
Keep things simple by applying your normal, everyday concealer, foundation, and eyebrow makeup, but take it up a notch by adding a stunning red lip and big, bold lashes (via falsies).
