If you’ve read this post, you know that one of my 2014 New Year’s beauty resolutions is to wear more lipsticks. Truth be told it is one of the only resolutions I have stuck with religiously. I’ve actually lost count of all the different lip products I have tried this year but I know for sure that I have worn more lipsticks this year than in all other years combined. Yes, major! So, when I got the opportunity to ask Dolce&Gabbana National Makeup Artist, Christian McCulloch a few questions, it was all about lips and lipsticks….and since Dolce&Gabbana is relaunching their Classic Cream Lipstick, it was all the more fitting.
TTB: Can you give me a few tricks to achieve the perfect lipstick application every time?
CM: One of my tricks is to use a little foundation, like Dolce&Gabbana Perfecting Matte Liquid Foundation around the lip area to create a blank canvas for the lips. Be sure to use a nice, conditioning lip balm prior; and if you have dehydrated lips, a little exfoliating scrub with warm water works well to create clean, smooth lips. Once your lips are smooth and your canvas clear; lip application is a breeze!
TTB: If short on time and can only apply lipstick and one other makeup product, what should you apply and why?
CM: Consider lipstick and mascara your secret weapon! Use Dolce&Gabbana Passioneyes Duo Mascara to create instantly refreshed and bright eyes; combined with a bold bright lip, you have created the complete look.
TTB: If you have fuller lips and want to wear bold colors, what finish should you look for in a lip product and why?
CM: The texture of Dolce&Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick is perfect for women with full lips as it is creamy, velvety and hydrating. A glossy texture can be a bit overpowering for fuller lips.
TTB: What is the main point of difference between the new Dolce&Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick and other lip products?
CM: The Dolce&Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick Collection is more long wearing than other lip products, especially with the increased moisture and emollients present in the revamped formula. The amount of pigment payoff is phenomenal! The Dolce&Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick Collection, looks good and feels good!
