Supplements Matter: Beauty From The Inside Out

Ever feel like you’re doing peak most, yet still not hitting your goals of clearer skin, fuller hair and a flatter tummy? Yeah, girl, me too. Which is why I am upping the ante and incorporating supplements into my beauty routine. Honestly, I feel like it’s the ONE thing I’m not doing…and is possibly the missing link to achieving unparalleled results. Have y’all seen my IG stories? I’m legit doing every serum, essence, and device imaginable. But is a supplement really the answer?

The Mane Choice  Manetabolism Plus

I first learned of The Mane Choice about a year ago while at Cosmoprof (a must-attend industry  event for beauty folks). After chatting extensively with the founder (and a registered nurse) Courtney Adeleye, I was convinced I wanted to give Manetabolism Plus a try.  The physician-formulated supplement is intended to support healthy hair growth as well as provide dietary nutrition for overall health. For years I’ve been saying “I need a good multi vitamin”…and this one feels like a good catch-all for both hair and body. (Pack of 2 at Amazon.com, $59.99)

Urban Skin Care Even Tone Supplements

When it comes to clear, even-toned skin, I am doing allllll of the things…..except supplements. So it makes perfect sense that I’m diving into a proprietary blend of natural ingredients that help to even skin tone, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve sun damage. This do-it-all clear skin supplement includes Vitamin C for brightening, as well as antioxidants, amino acids and Glutathione to strengthen the immune system and protect against free radicals. (Amazon.com, $38)

HUM NUTRITION Collagen Love Skin Firming Supplement

Collagen in your skincare is a big “duh, of course”…but ingestible collagen? Hmmm.    HUM NUTRITION Collagen Love Skin Firming Supplements are formulated with a skin plumping cocktail of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and types I, II, and III collagen. Can you improve elasticity with a pill? Possibly! (Sephora.com, $40)

Perricone  Super Greens Dietary Supplements

Not consuming enough greens on a daily basis? No problem. Perricone MD Super Greens Dietary Supplement is a drinkable powder that’s packed with a proprietary blend of superfoods and antioxidants to boost the body’s natural defense and fight the signs of premature aging. Free of GMO’s and artificial coloring, this beauty beverage contains  kale, parsley, spinach, wheat grass, broccoli, spirulina, barley grass, beetroot, chlorella, alfalfa, cauliflower, green cabbage, and watercress. I feel healthier just typing all of that! (Sephora.com, $80)

MOON JUICE  Full Moon Dust Box

If you’re having a hard time getting your head around the whole supplements thing, consider a starter set of  MOON JUICE  Full Moon Dust Box. Formulated with blends of super herbs and super mushrooms, this beginner supplement kit claims more radiant skin, improved memory, boosted libido, increased energy, mood elevation, and enhanced relaxation. If it can also clear up 5 years of bad credit, I’m purchasing stock! (Joking, my credit is good…now. LOL) (Sephora.com, $35)

  • I love love love your blog. I follow you on IG, which is how I found about you. So I’m willing to try the hair and skin pills only because you suggested it. Please post your thoughts and experience after you’ve tried. I would love to see if we have similar results.

  • I notice a huge difference when I take Emergen-C. I skipped it for two weeks….and my skin took a dive. I already use the HUM Naturals hair vitamin, which I am surprised actually works.
