Doesn’t every girl wish they had a personal stylist to keep them informed on the latest beauty trends? While we’re not all able to afford to pay a someone per hour for makeup consultations, there is an app that can help you get pretty close to wearing a celeb’s favorite beauty brands – on a budget.
SuperDuper is an app specifically designed to find the less expensive “dupe” of some of the top brands on the market. The free app currently focuses on popular nail polish brands such as Chanel, MAC, Tom Ford, and Yves Saint Laurent. As of this minute, there are 138 drugstore shades that the company considers dupes for 83 luxury-brand polishes.
To use the app, first, choose your favorite luxury brand based on the options provided, next, choose the color you want, and lastly, get your drugstore dupe! In the search for the perfect matches, the SuperDuper team paints every potential pairing on their own nails, then check the shades in multiple lights, both artificial and natural. If that’s not dedication, I’m not sure what is.
One of my favorite dupes on the app is of YSL’s “Prune Minimale” ($27), for which Revlon’s “Vixen” ($3.99) is offered as an alternate. A $23 difference in price?! I’m sold. Want to find a dupe? Try SuperDuper!
