I pride myself on my innate ability to masterfully straddle the worlds of “fashionista” and “frugalista”…and my admirers are none the wiser. No one ever suspects you’re rocking $15 Forever 21 jeggings when they’re skillfully paired with 5 inch gold lame red soles [See my pic to the right – I was being interviewed backstage during NYFW S/S2010].
The facts are this – I like my swagger fresh to death and my bank account fat…so “high/low” shopping works for me. For most women, especially given the current state of the economy, long gone are the days of unbridled high end splurging and the willy nilly wielding of plastic.
“High/low” shopping is not limited to apparel. In fact, a good deal of my “high/low” consumption applies to beauty products. Don’t get me wrong, I have my department store faves (Hello Kevyn Aucoin THE MASCARA) but shopping a mass drugstore chain is a great way to save cheddar and stock up on health and beauty must haves.

OIL OF OLAY the must of moisturizers! i have really sensitive skin. Oil of Olay is one of the few products that i use that wont cause me to breakout. Love it!

I can’t live without my Crest White Strips. They make my teeth so white and pretty! People actully stop in the middle of my conversations with them, to tell me how beautiful my teeth are.
