Just before 5:00PM yesterday, Haiti was violently devastated by a massive 7.0 earthquake. Like the rest of the world I watched the news with a heavy heart and sent up prayers to our global family in Haiti. With the light of day today, we will begin to truly see the devastation of this crippling event.
As we keep Haiti in our prayers, I also ask that we donate dollars. The relief effort is under way and our help is needed. Lets all do our part. If we can buy the hot lip color of the season, we can certainly donate to help our global family in Haiti.
Two organizations that I personally endorse and have contributed to are:
Carma Foundation – Founded by Melky Jean (sister of Wyclef Jean). Carma is a non-profit organization who’s mission is to measurably improve the health of poor and vulnerable women and children in Haiti.
Yele Haiti – Founded by Wyclef Jean. Donate just $5 by texting “Yele” to 501501. Yéle Haiti is a grassroots movement that builds global awareness for Haiti while helping to transform the country through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment. Yéle’s community service programs include food distribution and mobilizing emergency relief. Grammy-Award winning musician, humanitarian and Goodwill Ambassador to Haiti Wyclef Jean founded Yéle Haiti in 2005.
