If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring just one eye makeup brush, which one would it be???
Tough choice, HUH?
Well Number One – I love that this deserted island scenario allows you to bring makeup! LOL!
But to answer the question, if I had just one eye makeup brush to bring, it would be this one:
Sonia Kashuk’s Fluffy Eye Brush also known as “The Little Brush That Could”.

At $4.99, this small but mighty brush goes the distance. It multi tasks like a dream. It’s great for lid, crease, and highlight.
If you’re new to makeup or on a super tight budget or just like a great deal, consider this bargain gem. And consider it soon. I have a strange feeling this line of SK brushes will be discontinued when the newer target lines premiere later this month. I’ve noticed that my local Target is not replenishing the aisles. I had to go to another Target to stock up.
So if you’re at all interested, get em while they’re still around!
Also Sonia Kashuk has a slightly higher end Target brush line…these brushes are of higher quality and have a fancy shiny metallic black/ green handle. These brushes are fab too, but the original plain ol white handle SK Target line is amazing, IMHO.
I also love the SK large crease brush ($5.99). I swear I use both the crease brush and the fluffy brush way more than my pricier brushes (MAC, Armani, Bobbi Brown, etc.).
And because I can show you better than I can tell you, below you will find pics of me wearing MAC’s new Sea&Sky Mineralize eye shadow duo.
And for today’s challenge boys and girls –
I created the look below using ONE Sonia Kashuk Fluffy Brush. So everything….lid application, crease, blending, highlight…everything was done with this one little wonderful brush. (I wiped it clean on a paper towel in between colors)
Colors are applied as follows with SK fluffy brush (all mac colors unless otherwise stated):
- Primer on entire eye area. Applied with finger tip
- Lighter shade of duo applied to lower lid. Only applied to two thirds of the lower eye starting at inner eye
- Darker shade applied in the crease
- Thanks to the recommendation of the lovely Farai, a faithful TTB reader in Michigan, I used Tete-A-Tint as my highlight
BEHOLD –
The handy work of a $4.99 brush from Tar-jay!
