For die hard makeup aficionados, observing backstage is the ultimate thrill. Nothing beats it! While backstage at Lela Rose I had the opportunity to (very briefly) chat with the masterfully talented beautification team:
- Tina Turnbow on makeup
- Ted Gibson on hair
- butter LONDON on nails
Celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow for Beauty.com utilized Stila Cosmetics to create a look that reflected a “rain forest” . The look for the eye was very bright like a “beetle’s wing”. Deeply pigmented green eye shadow was balanced with a glossy “nude lip”. Here’s Tina below working her magic.
I was so inspired by Tina’s creation that I couldn’t resist recently purchasing THIS little friend. Expect a Face of the Day soon 🙂

Nails were done by butter LONDON
In talking with the brand, I learned that the trend for Fall is very similar to what was presented in the show. Not “overdone”. Not “matchy”. More “toned down” due to the recession. Nails for Fall will speak to an “at home simplicity”. Apparently the “dark nail is not the story for Fall”. We will see colors that represent a certain “cleanliness”…lots of pure and opaque “putty, beige, and grey”.
