Mario Badescu and Cosmedicine saved my life! OK, well not actually my life…more like my skin. But since my skin is basically my life and calling card as a makeup artist/ beauty expert…uhhh yea, Mario Badescu and Cosmedicine saved my life!
As you guys know, I was recently a presenter for the The Powder Group. I led a really cool panel discussion at The Artist Summit – Miami called “Beauty and the Blog”…If you’re in Chicago this weekend, catch me as I lead the same panel!
Anywho, while prepping for my trip to MIA, I met with my fav Esthetician and all around skincare guru, Leslie Cole. Leslie owns Time To Unwind Day Spa, a beautiful urban oasis located in my hometown of Newark, NJ. Prior to leaving for MIA I visited Leslie for one of her signature “do whatever needs to be done” facials. This is where Leslie basically hunkers down and goes to WORK on my face. In addition to my routine deep cleansing facial, Leslie did a series of MUCH needed peels and deep treatments customized to deal with some of the craziness that was currently going on beneath the surface.
For a service so intense, I normally give myself a few days to recover and deal with any residual peeling. I did not do that this time. I met with Leslie on Wednesday, hopped a plane to MIA on Thursday, and by the time I was 30,000 feet in the air – my chin started to peel.
Upon touch down in MIA I immediately reached for two life saving products –
Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum
This mega moisture serum doubles as a layering product to use over day or night moisturizers for extra hydration. Can also be used alone as a lightweight hydrator for oily skin. Formulated with Ginkgo Extract, Ceramides and Ginseng Extracts that provide nourishing benefits for the skin.
Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Self Adjusting Exfoliator
A highly effective exfoliator with special stop-action crystals that adjust to individual needs and pinpoint areas requiring more attention.
The one-two punch of the aforementioned products helped restore my skin. Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum worked over time to calm and replenish my peeling skin. I used this product as a daytime serum, night time serum, and intense moisture mask. My skin felt nourished and reinvigorated after just one application!
Once my skin was revitalized and plump, I incorporated the gentle exfoliation of Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Self Adjusting Exfoliator. I am generally not a fan of manual exfoliation because so many scrubs GET IT WRONG. No thanks, I don’t particularly care for crushed up apricot seeds or jojoba beads. No way no how! I prefer exfoliators that treat my skin like the delicate flower it is:)
Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Self Adjusting Exfoliator is awesome because the special “stop-action” crystals adjust to the individual needs of your skin. The crystals actually shut off when uniform exfoliation is achieved, thus not resulting in overuse. I used Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Self Adjusting Exfoliator practically everyday I was in Miami (because my current skin condition called for it) and experienced no irritation or breakouts. Now that my skin is returning to normal and the peeling process has stopped, I will use the gentle self adjusting exfoliator about once a week.
With cold weather on the horizon and dry winter skin in the works, Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum is a great product to layer over your current moisturizer or night cream. I highly recommend Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum for individuals with skin in need if intense hydration.
Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Self Adjusting Exfoliator works extremely well for individuals in search of a gentle yet effective exfoliator to help improve the appearance of rough and uneven texture.
Editor’s note: A big cyber hug to beauty blogger extraordinaire, Christina Farrell/ TheMakeupBlogger. While in Miami I raided Christina’s bag o’ products, spied her Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum, and the rest is history. Christina – Thanks for turning me on to this life saving product!
