Mani of the Week: Geometric Color Block

Just because it’s the season of puffy coats and Starbuck’s infamous red holiday cups, doesn’t mean you have to go dark on the nails. I’m a firm believer that you can still (and should) rock bright nail polish during winter. I’m boycotting Frosty the Snowman and replacing him with Beach Barbie for a fun, bright Geometric Color Block Manicure.

STEP 1: After applying your base coat, paint all 5 nails with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Triple Shine (Pixie Slicks). After 3 minutes, apply your quick dry top coat. This helps create a smooth, clean surface for your design!

step 2

STEP 2: Using Color Club (Mrs. Robinson), start at the bottom right corner of the base of your nail. In one (slow) swipe, create a diagonal line that ends at the top of your nail.   The width of the brush is perfect for these lines/shapes! Repeat on the rest of your nails, 2 coats. Wait 3 minutes and apply another coat of your quick dry top coat. PS- how could you not LOVE a polish named Mrs. Robinson?!

step 3

STEP 3: Next, take Sephora Formula X (Potent) and create a diagonal line in one (slow) swipe again. This time start at the middle of the far left side of your nail. This swipe should cross over Mrs. Robinson and end at the far top right side of your nail.

STEP 4: Wait 3 minutes and seal with your quick dry top coat for the last time! If you have any leftover polish on your skin, use an old eyeliner brush dipped in acetone to rub it off!

THAT’S IT!  4 simple steps and you’re ready to conquer any situation (snow storm included).
