Since its launch in the UK last November, Illamasqua has created a huge buzz in the beauty industry.   Created with the eye of world renowned makeup artist, Alex Box, the brand’s concept is to unleash your alter ego.   Their extraordinary color range, professional quality, and range of texture makes anything possible.   From beauty aficionados to makeup artists to the everyday beauty consumer, this inspiring line has something for everyone.

I was very excited to try Illasmasqua’s Pure Pigment “Involve”. The sleek black packaging is divine, however, a little tricky to open.   Once open, the unique loose powder dispensing system makes it easy to use, which I love.   The top dispenses a little bit of product at a time, keeping things neat and tidy. This feature is GREAT!

The shade “Involve” is a dirty, muted violet shade with small flecks of silver glitter.   The texture is smooth and a bit more sheer than I initially expected, but very pretty and easy to work with. The pigment is able to be layered for added intensity.   I also   tried the product with a damp brush, for a more intense eye liner look. The formula is long wearing and holds up well.

While the pro artist might prefer a more concentrated pigment, the consumer or beginning makeup artist will appreciate the sheer wash of color. “Involve” is a fool-proof way to start experimenting with loose pigments.   While the shade will flatter most eye colors, women with green and hazel eyes will find the shade especially flattering!
