I Want to be a Lipstick Girl, Really I Do

I’ve always wanted to be a Lipstick Girl. You know the type. They whip out a tube of their favorite lipstick, apply a few coats and instantly they look like a million bucks. I had a girlfriend in highschool who could rock this look like nobody’s business. But lipstick has never been my friend. I’ve always been more of a gloss girl. Glosses are easy going and rarely require extra effort. No fuss, no muss, no exact application required. A lot of ladies line their lips with lip liner but I am rather anti-lip liner. If a sales associate tries to sell me on a gloss/lipstick by saying the color will look better with a liner, well then its a color I don’t need. Weird I know. But thats just me. I don’t really do lip liner paired with gloss or lipstick. Now I might do a lip liner as an all over lip color and then throw some gloss on top for sheen (unless I decide to go sans gloss for a matte look). But rarely will you catch me whipping out lip liner. And PUH-LEAZE don’t get me started on contrasting lip liner. Girls — you know who you are and you need to stop. If ya gonna wear the liner at least make sure it blends. And how can I put this delicately…EXPAND BEYOND CHESTNUT. You know what I’m talkin bout (Willis) and you know who you are…

Oh darn, I have digressed —

So anyways, I’ve never been much of a Lipstick Girl…well that was up until I met Creamy Lip Color by Bobbi Brown. The queen of makeup simplicity has done it again. Leave it to Bobbi Brown to create a lipstick that’s both rich in color and comfortable on the lips. Creamy Lip Color is formulated with emollient Shea Butter and skin conditioners. According to Bobbi Brown “this amazing new formula glides on smooth, wears all day, and leaves lips soft and moisturized”. I can’t really comment on the “all day wear” thing but this lipstick feels like an absolute dream gliding over my lips. I am in love with Blue Raspberry. Its a very nice compliment to my natural tone and its not super lipsticky.
Thanks to Bobbi Brown, I now feel like a Lipstick Girl.

    Hi Felicia,
I can totally relate to what your wrote!
I want to be a lipstick girl to0.
My fav lipstick girls are Gwen Stefani & Dita Von Teese.
I used to be a Gloss girl just like you but then my friend bought me a matte lipstick (I thought…what was she thinking) but this stuff was great.
It’s made by a company called Lipstick Queen. They have two lines Saints and Sinners….I personally love the Saint Line and Oxymoron Shades. Oxymoron is a lipstick and a blush in one container! Good for those clutch days.
It’s weird cause it doesn’t feel Matte at all..I read online that it’s made of an elastic material as opposed to powder which is why it doesn’t dry the lips.
Then…this is so weird…I was in Barnes and Noble and saw the creator of Lipstick Queen wrote a book called “Lessons of A Lipstick Queen”.
Anyways..I’m going on and on but def check this brand out.
I think being a Lipstick Girl is all about how you wear it. It’s about the confidence it brings you.
It’s about style and fashion and strutting your stuff like it’s nobody’s business.
As they say don’t let the lipstick wear you…you wear the lipstick!
    Jessica K.
