What do get when you mix lipstick and art? An amazing new collaboration courtesy of model Jenny Shimizu, creative director Periel Aschenbrand, and Lipstick Queen founder, Poppy King. This limited edition shade called Helmut Red is inspired by the photography of the iconic Helmut Newton. To celebrate such a creative mash up, the fashion set stepped out in full force at NYC’s Openhouse gallery, donning ensembles reflective of the suggested dress code: Helmut Newton Chic. Think – black, white and red mixed with a sexy edge. White walls and stark white interior provided a great canvas for guests to mill around admiring prints by Eran Shakine, provocative prints featuring Shimizu herself, and vintage lipstick ads that harken back to the days of “never leaving the house without your lipstick†(which I totally still agree with). Here are some shots of the party in action:
Makeup artists were on hand to apply this creamy, bold red lip color to willing guests. I of course sat down for an application and was delighted with the amazing texture of this chic lipstick – it glided on effortlessly and did not dry my lips out. Heavy with blue undertones, this Helmut Red shade is perfect for all skin tones – and aren’t we always looking for the perfect red?! Here I am wearing the lipstick of the evening:
Helmut Red is available for a limited time at HouseofExposure and retails for $25.00.
