Fall Style with Bali Comfort Revolution Collection & Your Chance To WIN!

Recently I had a twitter exchange with Maybelline that went a little something like this…

Maybelline: Never under estimate the power of a great mascara.

To which I responded and RT’d: Or a great bra

To which Maybelline responded and RT’d to say: Truth!

Ahh, a great fitting bra and the power it wields. Personally, when the girls are perked up just right and supported just so, well, I feel just a little bit invincible. But what makes a bra…”great”?

Fit

Obviously fit is a key player. It’s allll about the fit. The right bra can mean the difference between looking long & lean…and looking like a linebacker. You don’t play football. You don’t want to look like a linebacker.

Cost

And then there’s cost. Let me tell you…I don’t care how well a bra fits, if you can’t afford it, you can’t afford it. End of story.

So, in short, what makes a great bra in my book, is the holy grail convergence of supreme fit and affordable price point.  So let’s chat BALI Comfort Revolution Smart Size with Underwire.

A great bra is next to godliness. Ok, maybe that’s a tad dramatic, but wearing a properly fitting bra makes a world of difference in how your clothes fit and how you feel about yourself. As a girl with a bit of a unicorn bra size ranging between 32D to 32DD I have a keen understanding of bras — the good, the bad and the ugly.  So this summer when I was introduced to BALI Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes system, I was really interested in learning more and sharing with my ThisThatBeauty followers.

I should first disclose that because my bra size if a bit of a unicorn, I was absolutely skeptical.  Up until now, finding the right bra meant shopping specialty stores and spending about $70 per bra. Yikes!

Having said that, I was all ears for exploring a more affordable, but equally good-fitting option.

On the surface, BALI aligns with my bra aesthetic …BALI bras are designed for women who gravitate toward fuller coverage, but appreciate elegant tailoring and want to feel beautiful.  That’s me!

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been experimenting with several  BALI Comfort Revolution bras and I thought I’d share my favorites with you and have a little style out on the best bras for your fall wardrobe:

Coat and SS underwire

Statement Coat: Try Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes with Underwire

Statement coats (think textured sleeves, bold massive fur, oversize parkas) are a huge trend this season. Because these coats tend to add a bit of bulk, go with a bra that keeps the girls firmly in place and well supported. My pick: Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes with Underwire .

I love that this bra lifts and controls. Sometimes you get the lift, but the girls aren’t quite controlled…but not with this bra. The design keeps straps in place and boobs firmly hoisted, allowing for a beautiful, clean line underneath your statement coat.

Peplum and CR wirefreePeplum: Try  Comfort Revolution Wirefree

Yep, this flouncy little trend is here to stay…at least for a bit longer. Keep your look balanced with Comfort Revolution Wirefree. The softly molded cups help shape and support. The flexible fit is really nice because the bra sort of moves with you for maximum comfort.

Layers and CR convertibleSheer Layers: Try Comfort Revolution Convertible Wirefree

This trend is almost a no brainer. Like, it’s warm so bundle up, why don’t ya?! But we’re seeing lots of sheer, oversized, boyfriend-inspired layers this season, and this look requires a soft, supportive hold underneath it all. And if you decide to do a slouchy, slightly off the shoulder look, your bra straps are versatile and can be adjusted to suit.

My absolute favorite

Of all the styles, my favorite is the Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes with Underwire. Simply put, I’m an underwire girl and require added support.  Comfort Revolution Smart Size with Underwire fits beautifully because it stretches to accommodate my entire cup size….and that’s no small feat considering I’m still nursing. I also find that  Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes with Underwire is the most universal bra of the collection — meaning, it’s the most versatile and works with just about whatever I wear.  Plus, it’s one flexible bra (24 size options – 32B to 44DD) in six easy-to-fit sizes, XS, S, M, L, XL and 2XL.

  • For a short thin woman, I have an unusually large ribcage which requires a size 38 band. My bust size is a B+ on the outer edges where my breast tissue extends to under my armpits. On the inner edges my bust size is a B- where I have no cleavage whatsoever; just flat skin and bone. To have a bra fully encase the outer edges of my breasts, I have to wear a 38C because the cups are then broad enough to do so. That leaves the inner top quarter of the bra virtually empty. Which is why I have to wear foam-lined bras. And as I age [I’ll be 69 in 2 weeks], I get droopier and droopier. I’m afraid that one of these days I’ll have to start stuffing my bras with tissues the way we used to do back in junior high school. The Comfort Revolution with Smart Size Underwire sounds like it just might work for me.

    Hi ThisThatBeauty,

    My question is as followed:

I am a mom of two who has breastfeed both children. I went from the A-team to a C-Cup and now to peek a boo (Not sure where they went, actually). What bra recommendations can you make for a mom who wants to have comfort, cleavage, and a tad bit of sexiness? Help, I need “my” sexy back.

  • Dilemma: It’s so hard to find bra’s in my size that aren’t black, nude or white! The bra’s that are in my size and are a fun color are super expensive ($80+, on a college students budget? Nope). Also, is it necessary to wash my bra’s in a gentle detergent or can I use regular detergent to wash them? Question: How can I care for my bra’s without spending a bunch of money on a fancy detergent (and even more coins at the laundromat on an extra load)? And do Bali bra’s come in a size 44D?

  • I have relatively small boobs, 32B/C to to give a general idea and one side seems significantly bigger than the other. I noticed that my bra sized seems to vary slightly throughout the month. What is the best time of month to obtain the “truest”measurement?

  • Antoinette B says:

Ive recently had a baby and was breastfeeding, now non of my bras fit. How long after breastfeeding should you get fitted and buy new bras?

  • Taylor Doyle says:

I am seemingly always wearing the same bra despite the others lying there in the underwear drawer, lonely. Why is it difficult to find a bra with the correct coverage and support that goes with multiple attires. I need a bra that I can wear to work and out for dinner afterwards and still feel confident and supported. Thank you!

  • Suzanne Canfield says:

I noticed with my bras, I have a bulge on the side under my arms that is pinched by the bra and it looks awful! How do I eliminate this side boob?

  • Well, what is the best method to find out my true bra size?

  • I’ve been a small boobied girl all my days. Now in my 20s the girls have started to “grow up”. I actually have cleavage now! (So exciting). But wearing my current bras I’m having side spillage & uncomfortable tightness. I would like to know what bra types (t-shirt bras, push up bras, strapless bra … Etc) are comfortable and the best for growing boobs?

  • Brandi C. says:

Oh bras! I’m accustomed to shopping for bras at specialty shops but had to stop that habit when my weight, and breasts, began fluctuating over the past year. Rather than spending $100 for 1 bra, I started shopping at less expensive shops but always felt like something was missing. My breasts never looked as good, the bras aren’t as comfortable and by the end of the day I can’t wait to rip it off! Having been every size from a 34C to a 38B in the past year, bra shopping shouldn’t be that difficult, but it is. My biggest dilemma is finding a bra that’s comfortable, with a snug enough band so that when I lift my arms, the bra stays put, and the straps don’t slip. Also, full coverage to prevent that dreaded double boob.
    Thanks for this post Felicia!
