Hey folks. It’s time for another installment of “DrugStore vs. “DepartmentStore” Showdown.
In this corner we have Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque (QHMJM).
Priced at about $3.99 for an eight ounce tube. This mask has a huge cult following. It’s a highly effective clay mask for those of us with oily skin. QHMJM helps dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and even shrink enlarged pores. This is one of the best drug store quality clay masks out there…and believe me I’ve tried it all. This mask has been my staple clay mask for years (ever since Clearasil Total Control Green Clay Mask was discontinued…I was heart broken).
Well a few weeks ago I was given a sample of a very lovely higher end clay mask.
It’s DDF’s Sulfur Therapeutic Mask (DDFSTM) .What’s great about DDFSTM is that like QHMJM, it’s a fantastic clay mask, but what separates the two is that DDFSTM is souped up with a higher concentration of sulfur (10%) and uses the anti-inflammatory properties of sulfur, aloe vera, purified clay, and aromatic extracts to help clear blemishes, treat oily skin, clogged pores, and acne. So DDFSTM is like QHMJM but turned up a notch. DDFSTM is priced at about $34 for a four ounce jar.
QHMJM can be found at most drugstores and beauty discount shops. DDFSTM can be found at Sephora. I bought mine at Nordstrom.
So if you’re super oily like me or if you enjoy the benefits of a good clay mask, try one of these.
