My love affair with all things purple (and near purple) continues with my choice of nail lacquers for this week’s manicure. I choose two colors, Bouganville and Iris, from Dolce and Gabbana Love in Taormina collection.
The Love in Taormina collection underlines the always existent connection between Dolce and Gabbana’s beauty and fashion worlds. Pat McGrath, Dolce and Gabbana Creative Advisor, took inspiration from the Dolce&Gabbana SS’13 beauty look while creating Love in Taormina; a collection of rich, feminine shades for the perfect choice for summer manicures.
I did a quick and dirty ombre manicure that took about 15 minutes from start to finish. The Dolce and Gabbana polishes deliver a creamy and opaque finish with just one coat.
For this mani I first applied Bouganville to all ten nails, after the first coat was applied and almost dry, I applied Iris to a makeup sponge and simple patted it over the first coat until it reached my desired look.
I completed the look by applying one coat of Dolce and Gabanna High Shine top lacquer to all nails. Easy as pie!
My manicure lasted over a week chip free and that’s saying a lot, because I am constantly working with my hands (this includes doing the dishes glove-free at least once per day).
The Dolce and Gabbana Love in Taormina Collection Includes: [Left to Right]
- Bouganville – Rich fuchsia with a touch of purple
- Oleandro – Soft, pearlescent pink
- Ibisco – Dark pink with coral undertones
- Camelia – Fluorescent coral
- Iris – Deep violet
Dolce and Gabbana has also launched a base lacquer, high shine top lacquer (which extended the life of my ombre mani) and a matte top lacquer. These three manicure enhancers “combine fashion and technology by strengthening and dressing the nails for the complete Dolce&Gabbana Manicure.”
You may find all the polishes in the Dolce and Gabbana Love in Taormina Collection at Sephora.com. Retail $24.
By the way, what are your thoughts on my Ombre Mani?
