When I saw the Deborah Lippmann Painted Desert collection, I immediately knew I wanted to do an updated desert camo on my nails. Since I’m in a distinct pale nail (I only want to wear light color polishes) phase right now, it was perfect. The Deborah Lippmann Painted Desert collection features four creamy neutral colors that work as well together as they do apart.
I used three of the four polishes (Shifting Sands, Terra Nova, Desert Moon) and a sliver of perforated car wash sponge I bought at my local Dollar Store, to achieve the look above. I used a steak knife to cut a sliver from the sponge but any serrated blade will do. This manicure is super easy and requires very little dexterity. I promise! 🙂
How-to:
- File, shape and clean nails
- Apply a base coat
- Apply two light coats of Shifting Sands and allow to dry completely
- Lightly brush Desert Moon on the sponge and dab over nail. Allow to dry completely.
- Lightly brush Terra Nova on the sponge and dab over nail. Allow to dry completely.
- Finish with a top coat.
Though this manicure is built on Shifting Sands [get it? No? Ok, moving on!:)] I did get some longevity from it. I’m on day 5 and still no chips.
The Deborah Lippmann Painted Desert Collection will be available in May at DeborahLippmann.com, Barneys, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Sephora stores nationwide. Polishes have a suggested retail price of $18.
