Cause I’m "BOSSY"…and a Product Give-a-way

‘ThisThatBeauty’s Fall 2008 go-to Berry Lip Color”

Cosmoholic’s BOSSY BERRY!

No  lie folks,
BOSSY BERRY is my berry lip obsession for Fall 2008.
Faithful ThisThatBeauty readers know of my red lip/  lipstick girl wannabe ambition.  I’ve always envied women who are able to beautifully and confidently flaunt a red lip.
Over the last year I’ve managed to stumble upon a couple of great finds that have taken me from gloss fanatic to certified lipstick girl.
But my latest find  is the icing on the cake.  It is a lip color triple threat.
Without further ado, I give you:

Cosmoholic Liquid Lipstick in Bossy Berry
“ThisThatBeauty’s Fall 2008 go-to Berry Lip Color”
Why am I calling BOSSY BERRY my go-to Berry Lip Color FOR FALL 2008?
Is it really all that, you ask?
YES, it most certainly is…and here’s why!
Not only does BOSSY BERRY deliver a delicious highly pigmented berry color that is unbelievably flattering…it also offers benefits unlike any gloss or lipstick I’ve ever encountered.
Here’s how BOSSY BERRY sets itself apart from the pack.
1) Its a gloss that delivers the pigment of a lipstick.  Love that.  Now certainly other glosses offer this but (IMHO) most highly pigmented glosses tend to be drying….which brings me to Number 2
2) Bossy Berry eliminates the need to apply lip balm before lipstick or gloss because BOSSY BERRY contains a built in balm which Cosmoholic calls a “Repair Kit”.  This feature is truly unique in a highly pigmented gloss.
3) And here’s the triple threat!  BOSSY BERRY has amazing staying power.  Lets not kid ourselves, glosses don’t last for ever and often require touch ups.  But the cool thing about Cosmoholic’s Liquid Lipstick is that when the gloss fades, a beautiful stain remains.  Oh how I  love the look of a seductive stain. There’s just something beautiful about a naturally flushed/ stained lip.  Very natural, yet turned up a slight notch.
I recently  sat down with the creator of Cosmoholic’s Liquid Lipstick, the brilliant Jody Cohen. Our conversation went a little something like this:
ThisThatBeauty:  Jody, I love your liquid lipstick!   For me its the perfect combination of a lip stain and a gloss.   But I’m sure they’re folks out there thinking “Jeez,  another  gloss”.   How does your gloss/ liquid lipstick differ from what’s currently on the market? Does Cosmoholic fill a void in the beauty industry?

Jody Cohen:  I like to think of Liquid Lipstick as problem solver. Liquid Lipstick is a 3 in 1: It’s a lipgloss, lipstick and lip balm. It goes on like a lip gloss and has the shine of a gloss; There is so much pigment in the formula that it looks like a lipstick; There is a “repair kit” in the formula that treats and nourishes your lips just like a lip balm would (which makes it not sticky!) . So,  women won’t have  to carry a lipgloss, lipstick and a  lip balm  in their makeup bag… they can  just carry  Liquid Lipstick! Also, the  “repair kit” is actually a  skin care treatment so you can  use  Liquid Lipstick as a blush as well.

It definitely fills a void in the market.  Usually, when you buy a lipgloss the pigment comes out 2 shades lighter than it appears in the tube. Liquid Lipstick is not deceiving… what you see is what you get. The fact that it’s not sticky  is a major perk as well!

TTB:  What led you to create your line of gloss?

JC:  I was  a freelance  makeup artist living in NYC and was sick of having to put on a lip balm first, then a lipstick, then a gloss over that to achieve the pigment I wanted.   I  rarely wore lip gloss because even though  I liked the way it looked, I HATED the way it made my lips feel. I wanted something that nourished the lips and looked beautiful at the same time.

TTB:  Are there plans to expand the gloss line or branch out into other products?

JC:  For right now, I am proud of the formula and the colors and am sticking with the lips:) But, yes,  I plan  to introduce new products to the Cosmoholic line in the future.

TTB:  Is there a Cosmoholic shade that you feel is universally flattering and why?

JC:  I think Bossy Berry, your favorite, is the most universal color. It looks good on EVERYONE!  I love  Bossy Berry because the pigment looks different on everyone, but always looks great!

Jody, thanks so much for  taking  time out for ThisThatBeauty.

Are You A Cosmoholic?

Cosmoholic is for the cosmetics junky, the on-the-go professional, the sassy stroller mom, and the trend- setter teen. It’s for the woman who wants classic colors with an edge. It’s for the woman who wants to stay ahead of the pack. It’s for every woman who’s ever wanted a lipstick and a lip gloss to finally get together.

The Dirty Details

Cosmoholic contains a nourishing “repair kit” for your lips (crafted by a chemist; a nerdy one!) that feeds the skin, forming a barrier to keep nasty irritants out, so your lips don’t look older than the rest of your beautiful face!

Cosmoholic isn’t sticky. Period.

Cosmoholic gives you tons of shine and no shimmer! (Except for Gold Digger – this special Cosmoholic color takes you from day to night with just a little shim-shim!)

Cosmoholic doesn’t contain fragrances (those are for perfume!), but vanilla flavors and macademia nut oil for moisturizing. It also has vitamin E (nature’s miracle vitamin), vitamin C, and antioxidants.

Cosmoholic comes in 7 highly pigmented shades – colors like Prudish Pink (are you a prude?) and Rockstar Red (or are you a rockstar?) – so you can have a little bit of personality in your pocket or purse.
