4 Cleansing Oils We’re Loving Right Now

Can you really clean your face with an oil?  The short answer is yes.  While you can clean with an oil, not all oils are created equal. The idea behind oil cleansing is that oils can break down the oily residue, makeup and other impurities on the skin allowing you to rinse them away. The cleansing oils hitting the market have taken that a step further and (most) are formulated to emulsify on contact with water, making them easier to rinse away. The result is clean, moisturized, non-greasy skin.  Since we are all about skincare and trying new products, the TTB ladies have found their favorite cleansings oil (of the moment) and they share them below.

Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil

Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil

Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil ($32) has been my cleansing oil go-to most of the winter. Like most girls with oily skin, I initially paused at the thought of a cleansing oil. But, as we now know, there are good-for-skin oils and there are bad-for-skin oils. This one is one of the good guys. It breaks down makeup, removes dirt and leaves skin feeling smooth and supple. It’s a really nice touch of hydration for overworked winter skin. – Felicia

Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil

Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil

Jojoba and Macadamia oil are at the base of this cleansing oil and it has a pleasing scent.  Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil really works well on my skin, and I especially like it for dry skin during the winter.  It also does a great job of dissolving makeup (when I wear it).   I have used it with great results with my MIA 2 in the shower.  One of my favorite things about this oil is the price, $5.99, how can you beat that?  It’s also available in drugstores and supermarket, no need to order it online or make a special trip to a department store. – Leslie

Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil

I really love the Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil ($25.)  It’s incredibly lightweight and removes all of my makeup easily and without effort. After I add water, it emulsifies into a thin milk that not only rinses away every last speck of makeup I’m wearing, but also softens my skin and leaves it clean without feeling stripped. – Maree

L’Occitane Shea Butter Cleansing Oil

L'Occitane Shea Butter Cleansing Oil

L’Occitane Shea Butter Cleansing Oil ($22) is one of the best cleansing oils I have ever used.  It completely breaks down makeup, even waterproof mascara and liner and rinses off without leaving a greasy residue on my face.  On no makeup days I can get away with just the  Cleansing Oil  and a toner to get my skin spotless, but on days when I use makeup I follow-up with a gentle cleanser to remove any residue.  This oil rose to the top of my preferences not only because of its performance, but also because it is formulated Sunflower Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil and Vitamin E.  If I can get the same level of efficacy from natural ingredients that I can from synthetic ingredients, the choice is really a no brainer. –  Christene
