Are beauty products clogging your cabinet and spilling off of your shelves? Has the number of steps in your beauty routine tipped into the double digits? If you’re feeling the need to simplify, try a few of these beauty multi-taskers
Cleanser + Mask
Designed for oily skin, the Garnier Clean+ Pore Purifying 2-in-1 Clay Cleanser/Mask contains kaolin clay and charcoal to absorb pesky impurities. Use it daily to wash the skin or leave it on for five minutes twice a week for a deeper cleanse. It is gray in color, so you won’t look pretty, but the cooling, deep cleansing effect will more than make up for it. ($7.99 at Drugstore.com)
Night Cream + Mask
If you have dry or mature skin, you’ll love the soothing feeling of the Kelly Teegarden 2-in-1 Rejuvenate – Anti Aging Night Cream/Hydration Masque, which is packed with nourishing, organic oils like evening primrose and linseed. Apply a thin layer as a night cream or apply a thicker layer for a 20-minute deep hydrating treatment a couple times per week. ($29 at Kelly Teegarden Organics)
Primer for Lips + Eyes
If your eye shadow fades by lunchtime or your lipstick tends to feather, the chubby Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil is your new best friend. Before your makeup, apply a thin layer on the problem area to ensure everything stays put. It even cleans up little goofs after your makeup application! ($18 at UrbanDecay.com)
Shampoo+Shower Gel + Bubble Bath
If you have limited space in the shower, the Philosophy Perfumed Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel is worth making room for! This foamy gel cleanses the hair and body, and it can be used as a luxurious, floral-scented bubble bath. ($17 or 8oz. at Philosophy.com)
Scalp Cleanser, Conditioning Rinse + Detangler
The sulfate- and suds-free Biotera 5-in-1 Cleansing Conditioner cleans and conditions the hair and scalp. You can even apply a small dollop after you towel dry to detangle, provide shine and control frizz. ($11.49 at Sally Beauty)
Skin + Hair Treatment
Chock full of soothing oils like tamanu and hazel seed, the yummy-smelling Innersense Harmonic Healing Oil treats dry, irritated spots on the face and body. It will also tame frizzy hair! Just a drop does the trick. ($22 at Innersense Beauty)
And I couldn’t write a multi-tasking story without the ultimate multi-tasker, coconut oil! You can use coconut oil for just about anything, as a face or body moisturizer, a makeup remover, a shave oil, a frizz-tamer…the list goes on. You can also cook with it! I like Vita Coco, because it’s 100% raw and organic. ($9.99 Amazon.com)
Conditioner Dispenser + Brush
The Remington Shower Conditioning Brush applies conditioner to the hair while you brush, ensuring an even application. Simply fill the container with conditioner and dispense it with the press of a button. ($9.99 at Walmart)
Powder, Primer, Blush + Foundation Brush
Who needs a ton of brushes when you have one that does so much? BECCA Cosmetics The One Perfecting Brush can be used for almost any kind of face makeup, eliminating the need for so many brushes. If you want to use it for more than one product in a sitting, my advice would be to use it for either liquids (primers, foundation or cream blushes) or powders (face powder and blushes) and wipe it off in between each product. ($49 at Sephora)
