Beauty and Technology: Clarins/Thierry Mugler – womanity.com

I love it when beauty and technology play in the same sand box! I recently learned that Clarins Fragrance Group and designer Thierry Mugler have announced their partnership to launch a global interactive online platform that gives users the ability to interact and come up with new product ideas for the brand. [Whoa, I just said a mouthful!]

Clarins describes the venture, www.womanity.com, as a “creative commons for expression and exchange”. As part of the web experience, users are able to exercise their creativity as well as share ideas and trade experiences. The site features an interactive collage of colored tiles containing articles, videos, poems and other content designed to inspire women and encourage users to share their views on femininity. Users will also have the option of adding their own images, videos, and messages in response to the inquiry: What does womanity mean to you?

The site is in collaboration with Microsoft’s MSN. This global initiative hopes to attract more than two million members by the end of the year. It has launched in six languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and French.
