Adulting Ain’t Easy: Here’s My Cheat Sheet

Momma didn’t lie when she said real beauty comes from within. It’s true — the joy that you feel on the inside is sure to light up the outside…

But if we can be real for a moment — what’s a girl to do when she can’t get her feelings aligned on the inside? *raises hand*  Lately I’ve been that girl. Currently, life is being very…life! I’m experiencing an overload of transitions with work, family, motherhood and my body. And this is all leaving my “inner Felicia” feeling rather lackluster. So, if beauty comes from within, and my “within” is feeling meh….you see where I’m going?

Ultimately, true beauty and strength come from within. But if your “within” is struggling, read on as I share my cheat sheet of little things that we can do on the outside to make us feel more confident on the inside….

BODY ISSUES
Regardless of size we’ve all been there. For me, Summer is hours away and I feel like everyone is Summer 16 ready except me.

CHEAT SHEET: Self-Tanner to the rescue. And it doesn’t have to be an expensive department store brand. I’m a huge fan of several brands commonly available at the drugstore. Upon application, most deliver a nice boost of warmth within the first couple of hours, thus immediately camouflaging cellulite and slack skin. I had a big outdoor event recently, and started my self tanning just a few days prior. I was SO surprised at how “faux fit” my legs looked. Do I still need to hit the gym? Yes! But this little trick definitely helps me feel more confident in the mean time.

CHEAT SHEET:  Go on and splurge…don’t be cheap and do it yourself. Treat yourself to a professional experience at a salon. You’ll be surprised at how a simple manicure can elevate your mood.
