How often do you really think about body wash? If you are anything like me you probably don’t think about it that much unless you come across a product that performs really well or really poorly. While I’m no body wash aficionado I do use a body wash at least once daily. Over time I have come to realize that not all body washes are created equally and it’s not just based on cost. Below I have listed a few body washes that I have tried over the last several months, all deliver a great clean feeling, some with added benefits of botanical ingredients, extra moisture, exfoliation and others to soothe and calm the skin.
Suave Naturals Body Wash, Rainforest Fresh
Suave is your basic body wash “For Fresh, Fragrant Skin.” While Suave is the lowest cost bodywash on this lists it delivers a good a clean as any of the others listed. Suave Naturals Body Wash is hypoallergenic and is enriched with bamboo and aloe extracts to help moisturize your skin. This is a perfect buy for any budget conscious shopper. It is available in a variety of scents. I would not recommend for anyone with sensitivity to perfumes and dyes. $2.49
Dr.Hauschka Almond Soothing Body Wash
Dr.Hauschka Almond Soothing Body Wash leaves skin feeling clean but not stripped of moisture. It is formulated with a variety of plant oils, essential oils and and extracts to help moisturize and strengthen skin’s barrier. It you are looking to avoid products with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) this product is worth considering. Because of the abundance of essential oils and the addition of fragrance, I would not recommend this product for sensitive skin. $24.95
Eucerin Calming Body Wash Daily Shower Oil
Eucerin Calming Body Wash Daily Shower Oil has soybean oil as its first ingredient, something I’ve not seen before in a body wash. The shower oil is formulated to calm skin and it works to deliver a gentle calming clean to dry irritated skin, leaving it soft and feeling soothed. This dry skin therapy is dermatologist recommended and good for use on sensitive skin. $6.99
Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash is a long time favorite. It would be almost impossible for me to talk body wash and not include it. This body wash contains loads of moisturizers and leaves skin feeling fantastic. During summer months lotion is often not necessary after using the Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash. There are several varieties of Dove Body Wash to address various skin concerns. Find your perfect Dove Body Wash here. $8.99
Olivina Wild Fennel and Orange Hand and Body Wash
Olivina Wild Fennel and Orange Hand and Body Wash has a light gentle fragrance. It contains calming, soothing and skin nourishing ingredients such as: aloe, chamomile, white and green tea extracts, lavender extract and cucumber extracts. Glycerin and olive oil help to moisturize the skin while the SLS free cleansing system delivers an effective clean. The pump dispenser makes this cleanser handy both in the shower and at the sink I would not recommend for sensitive skin because of the added fragrance, extracts and essential oils. $18
Yes To Carrots Nourishing Body Wash
Yes To Carrots Nourishing Body Wash has a good balance of nourishing and cleansing ingredients. Skin feels hydrated but it doesn’t leave a heavy feeling on the skin after cleansing. This product contains 96% certified organic ingredients, is paraben free and SLS free. Yes To Carrots is formulated with its namesake ingredient, carrot seed oil and also contains watermelon extract and glycerin. Great for all skin types, though if you are sensitive to fragrance, be aware that fragrance is added to this product. $8.99
L’Occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Body Wash
L’Occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Body Wash feels gentle and delicate on the skin and smells like babies. [An odd description, yes, but definitely reminds me of babies.] Though this product contains fragrance, the manufacturer states it is hypoallergenic and perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin but not recommended for use on children under 3 years old. It is enriched with white mallow milk and leaves the skin soft, hydrated and lightly scented. $34
Ahava Mineral Body Exfoliator
I love a good 2-in-1 product because I always feel more efficient when I use it. This Ahava Mineral Body Exfoliator is designed to exfoliate and clean at the same time. It contains mineral rich Dead Sea water that is said to “restore skin’s vitality and enhances its natural ability to retain moisture. It effectively elevates skin’s hydration and provides an essential daily body treatment.” Red Sea Weed granules exfoliate the skin, thereby increasing circulation and enhance the look and feel of skin. I pour this product on my hand and massage over my entire body in circular motions. Ahava Mineral Body Exfoliator is perfect for rough, dry skin, mature ski, but not recommended for sensitive skin types. $22
*For a limited time you can get the Ahava Mineral Body Exfoliator, Mineral Body Lotion, Mineral Hand Cream and the versatile Kooba clutch for $45.
No matter how you get clean there is product out there that is formulated just for you!
