My shopping habits and style have changed a lot in the last couple of years, and even more so since I became a mom. Gone are the days of spending hours at the mall wandering aimlessly. I need things to be easily accessible and super simple. Convenience now plays a rather significant role in my life, so whether it’s relaxing with a nice glass of wine (see my favs using #TTBWine on Instagram) or looking for a quick pick me up, I’m always wanting these conveniences at my finger tips. For this reason, lately I’ve been getting into Bottled Starbucks ® Iced Coffees. My days often start pretty early so I need a bit of a jolt — with no time to brew a cup, Bottled Starbucks ® Iced Coffees certainly fit into my lifestyle of “easy does itâ€. I don’t have to measure, brew or even get dressed and leave the house…just reach in the fridge and caffeine is mine!! If you value convenience and want to refresh your Summer wardrobe the ThisThatBeauty way, read on as I share tips to refresh your summer wardrobe while making the most of your precious time.
Decide What to Buy
Once I’ve identified the trends I want to try, most of my shopping is done online where I can search for ALL of the midi skirts, ripped boyfriend jeans, or crop tops with just a few clicks. This really helps me to not over buy at the mall simply because something is “cute” after having not eaten in 4 hours or after walking for hours, trying on numerous outfits and feeling I must buy something just to justify the time spent.
Make Room for New Purchases
Constantly shopping and not purging can lead to closet overload in a major way. To avoid this, I’ve adopted the “one piece in, one piece out” rule. For me this is simply donating or consigning one item of clothing for every piece I buy. Anything that I haven’t worn in 3-5 years is fair game…that’s unless it’s something I’m saving for Phoebe.
Find the Basics
I tend to shop for basic tees and tops at places like H&M, Zara and even Forever 21. This leaves me with enough in my budget to splurge on statement making pieces. I mean, how fancy does my basic white T-shirt need to be?. . .especially when paired with skinny jeans and my super chic Valentino Rockstuds.
Stylize ‘Common’ Trendy Pieces
Sometimes while shopping for basics I’ll come across great trendy pieces that fit right into my style…if I buy a trendy piece at any of the stores mentioned above, I tend to wear it quite differently than how the 352974884 New Yorkers I encounter on a daily basis might wear it. Peppering your outfit with confidence, no matter the style, is also a great trick to make any outfit a winner.
So in a nutshell — If you value convenience and want to refresh your summer wardrobe ThisThatBeauty style, relax with a nice glass of wine or get in gear with a Bottled Starbucks ® Iced Coffee, make a list of trend pieces you want, shop online, then once your clothes arrive do a closet purge. As for the rest, donate or consign one piece for every piece you purchased.
Cheers and Happy Shopping!

I love my coffee & being a mum of 2 very busy little boys we do need quick fixes, but I still cannot take to the starbucks coffee thing, for me it is so fake & a real espresso is something I just can’t compromise.
Great post! I like the idea of one piece in, one piece out. I definitely need to adopt this rule 🙂
With Love,
