Why Spend All That Money: MAKE UP FOR EVER versus Revlon

“Why Spend All That Money” is a new series that I am toying around with. It’s a splurge vs. steal concept. Hey, I’m as fa-fa-chi-chi as they come but let’s get real. The economy is what it is and I like saving a few smakeroos when I can.

On with the show…

Fun flirty lashes have been a huge trend this year. Everywhere I turn folks are sporting faux lashes. Now granted, I don’t always see lashes popping up in the most appropriate of places (CLICK HERE FOR MY EARLIER RANT ON SAID TOPIC), but the fact of the matter is, lashes are here to stay!

If you’ve tried your hand at falsies, you know that they can be quite expensive. Brands like MAC and Shu Uemura start at about $14 and go up to as much as the price of a nice dinner.

I recently found a great way to recreate the look of a high end MAKE UP FOR EVER LASH ($15)

The lash above, when applied, gives a winged out look at the edges. Very fun and flirty for a night out with the girls. Recreate a similar look for a fraction of the price with Revlon Fantasy Length Lash in style “BLUE SHADOW”

This style makes for a great outer lash strip…meaning apply the strip only to the outer lash line as opposed to the entire lash line. And viola! You’ve created beautifully fringed lashes. The Revlon strip is about $4. So yea, “Why Spend All That Money”?

Please share your thoughts on this new series. I love hearing from you!
