#TTBFaves with Maree: Featuring LOreal, Bumble and Bumble and Naked Princess

#TTBFaves: Every month, the ThisThatBeauty girls share their favorite beauty products from the previous month.   Today I share my top picks from August…

9f2dNude-Liquid-Powder-Bare-Skin-Perfecting-MakeupL’Oreal Magic Nude Foundation

Why I love It:   There was much “buzz” surrounding this foundation when it initially launched, and many were comparing it to the Armani Maestro, which is a personal favorite of mine. I found this to be a suitable less expensive dupe, and with it’s super lightweight texture and liquid to powder formulation, this has become a new summer makeup staple.

Who it Might Work For and Why:   I have super oily skin and this wore exceptionally well on my skin, so I would highly recommend it for those with similar skin types.   It does give relatively sheer coverage but can be built up if needed.   For those looking for a breathable, easy to wear and natural matte finish foundation, this is a perfect choice (and it is budget friendly.)

Bottom line:   Another win from the L’Oreal Magic line.

Available at Target.com for 10.99.

Bumble and Bumble straight line

Bumble and Bumble Straight Hair line

Why I love It: Because my hair is ridiculously curly and frizzy, and I prefer it not be. I recently received samples of this line as a Sephora VIB gift, and while typically I pass on them, I felt that with the NYC humidity I need to try everything.   I was instantly impressed after the first wash and use with how well my hair managed the frizz factor the following day.   The straightening balm was weightless in my hair and did not leave it feeling greasy, which is often my obstacle with other serums/balms.

Who it Might Work for and Why::   Anyone dealing with the dreaded “summer hair frizz”.   The entire line worked so well with my oily hair and did not leave it weighted down, that I think it would actually transition well into the cooler months also.   I have played around with using the entire system together or combined with other shampoos, conditioners and product and find that it works equally as well.   So, even just working one of the products into a routine can have a taming effect on frizz.

Bottom Line:   A frizz-fighting line that is effective under extreme conditions, but light enough to be used on a daily basis.

Available at Sephora for $29-$32.

Naked Princess LipglossNaked Princess Lip Glosses

Why I love It: I can never pass up a chance to try a new neutral lip color, whether lipstick or lip gloss.   I was recently introduced to this line and after swatching the sheer shades and feeling the lightweight texture, I knew they would become a permanent staple in my makeup bag.

Who it Might Work for and Why:   These glosses come in varying shades of nude and would work with any lip color or skin tone, making them some of the most versatile glosses I have seen.   They are   perfect to wear alone or on top of lipstick, giving an added boost of shine or texture.   The formula is thin, and provides of a feeling of comfort and moisture to the lips, rather than the stickiness often associated with other glosses.

Bottom Line: No one can ever have too   many nude glosses, and with the wearable range of shades available, there is something for everyone.

Available at birchbox.com for $26.00.   Check out their new packaging coming in late September.
