ThisThatBeauty Reviews: Sigma Beauty Retractable Flat Top Kabuki Brush

I met the ladies of Sigma Beauty during New York Fashion Week and only a couple of weeks ago actually got around to trying the Retractable Flat Top Kabuki brush.   One word – Love! I was beside myself when I realized that this gem of a brush was just sitting in a corner waiting to be discovered. This brush is everything I want in a multipurpose, travel sized brush.

The soft bristles and flat top of the brush make it easy to apply setting powder and other loose powders. From what I have noticed, I get more coverage using the flat top Kabuki brush because it picks up more of the product.   I have also used it to apply powder foundation, blush and bronzer.   With blush and bronzer I do a lighter application, so, I dust off the brush and do a bit more blending than with foundation.   In case you are wondering how I am able to use this brush for all of these applications – well, I have a paper towel that I give it a good dusting in between product applications.

The retractable kabuki brush is made from synthetic fibers and is very easy to clean. It has a slight odor (from the synthetic material) but it faded a bit after a wash. To clean the brush I use luke warm soapy water (I use dish detergent like Dawn). I am often on the go when I apply my makeup…Sigma Hollywood Glamour Flat Top Retractable Kabuki brush makes application a breeze.

Sigma has professional brush kits, individual brushes, accessories and special edition brushes. If you go to their site, you can even build your brush own kit.   If you are looking to test one brush from Sigma before committing to an entire kit, I highly recommend the Retractable Kabuki brush. You will not be disappointed!
