ThisThatBeauty Reviews: Kahina Eye Cream

If you are seriously into beauty or even if you are mildly interested, you might have heard all the ravings about the wonders of Argan oil.   The Argan plant is found mainly in North Africa and specifically Morocco. Argan oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, carotenes and essential fatty acids and it is the number two ingredients in Kahina Eye Cream.

The cream also includes green tea, white tea and olive leaf extracts.   It also contains extracts from yeast and sea fennel.

According to the manufacturer, Kahina Eye Cream is suitable for all but is ideal for dry, sensitive and mature skin. On a recent visit for my first facial (full deets on TTB soon) I learned that the skin around the eye is four times thinner than the rest of the skin on the face and the area should only be treated with products specifically designed for eye area application.

Kahina Eye Cream is super lightweight and it completely absorbed into my skin.   I have been using it for about four weeks and the area around my eye definitely looks more…supple.   The manufacture claims that Kahina works by:

  • Enhancing moisture retention while boosting collagen production
  • Stimulating microcirculation that helps to decrease puffiness and dark circles
  • Soothing and relaxing the muscles around the eyes to reduce the appearance of                                 fine lines
  • Fighting free radicals that contribute to cellular damage and aging

Kahina is named for a Berber queen and prophetess who reigned in Morocco circa 700 CE. She is a a heroine to the Berber women. The company was started by Katharine Phillips L’Heureux, who on a trip to Morocco discovered the wonderful benefits of pure Argan oil.   All Kahina products are made using organic argan oil and 25% of the profits from product sales are used in initiatives to support Berber women.

Kahina eye Cream is 79% organic and 100% natural.   This is my first eye cream and it is the standard by which all other eye creams I use from now on will be measured.   If you are like me and you are a little timid about including an eye cream into your face care regiment, Kahina Eye Cream is great place to start.   Because it is so lightweight, you won’t feel like you’ve added a product to your eye area. It takes only a few seconds to apply the cream but the benefits will last a long time.

When using an eye cream, you should use sparingly.   If you are older than 25 years, the best time to start using an eye cream is yesterday.

Kahina Eye Cream retails for $65 and is available here. Remember, not only will Kahina Eye Cream help you look better, but also, a portion of the profits from the sale will help Berber women live better.   How can you beat that?
