ThisThatBeauty Reviews: DIOPTI DÉMAQ EYE MAKEUP REMOVER

These days, I am giving a lot more thought to the products I place on my precious peepers. Too much pulling and tugging can leave the sensitive eye area stressed and showing signs of pre-mature aging. For this reason,   Lierac’s DIOPTI DÉMAQ eye makeup remover caught my attention. Enriched with vitamin B5 andkeratin derivatives, the gel like eye makeup remover is safe for the fragile eye contour and even helps to prevent the loss of lashes. The gel formulation is mild and soothing.   I followed directions to the letter, using a cotton pad to gently apply the gel to my eyelids. I removed my mascara working from base to tips of lashes without rubbing. I repeated with a new cotton pad until the cotton pad came away clean.   The pad came away clean after four tries, that is four cotton pads. Even though I used four cotton pads I did not use much product.   I put a small amount in the center of the cotton pad and folded it in half to spread the gel on the cotton.   My money doesn’t grow on trees and I’m trying to be more green these days, so, I’m now using two cotton pads back and front.

After removing my eye makeup with Lierac’s Gentle Eye Make-up Remover I didn’t get that heavy lid and lash feeling I generally get when I use oil based cleansers. The gel also did a more thorough job than a simple water based eye makeup remover. Some ingredients in Lierac’s Gentle Eye Make-up Remover include floral rose water, cornflower, mallow extract and hydrolyzed keratin.

Cornflower petal distillate is often used to treat sore eyes.   Mallow extract is soothing and healing and helps to soften skin. Hydrolyzed Keratin is a hair protein that is often derived from hair, wool, hooves and horns of animals such as sheep and goat. I have no problem with sheep or goats, so, this ingredient doesn’t bother me one bit.

With the above combination of ingredients included in the formulation, I can see why Lierac’s DIOPTIDÉMAQ eye makeup remover left me with soothed, moisturized, makeup free eyes.
