ThisThatBeauty Reviews: Amarte Skincare

Skincare is the ultimate beauty indulgence.   Taking care of your skin and pampering it will always pay you back tenfold – makeup will wear better and the skin aging process will creep along at a snail’s pace.   The first step, however, is finding a routine that allows you to customize and change based on your skin’s fluctuating needs and concerns.

Customization is  the premise behind Amarte skin care, a brand that recently made its US debut but whose products are based in part on centuries old Korean philosophies.   “Love yourself, love your skin” is their motto – which resonates through each and every product and their approach to a skincare regimen.

Amarte feels that this regimen should promote peace and tranquility, while still being adaptable to the needs of the skin.   Four components essential to maintaining this skincare ritual are to cleanse, moisturize, rejuvenate and protect.   With multiple products offered in many of these categories, it is easy to explore and find products that work for you.

Cleanse and Exfoliate

The first two products in the line are the Cleansing Foam and Daily Exfolipowder –  both designed for cleansing the skin but each provide a different result when used.   The foam is designed to give a deep clean without drying out the skin, while the powder exfoliates, brightens and refines the skin. I found the Cleansing Foam perfect for daily use.  I follow with the Exfolipowder   3 to 4 times per week to give my skin an added boost.

Moisturize

Following a thorough cleanse, the moisturizing step is essential for “optimal skin health and benefits.”  With the option of 3 different products, the Aqua Veil Hydrator, Wonder Cream and Hydro Lift Cream, it is easy to customize a regimen based on changing needs.   The Wonder Cream helps to restore and nourish, while the Hydro Lift with retinol is aimed at reducing wrinkles.   The Aqua Veil Hydrator was a supreme stand out for me in this range with its refreshing cucumber scent and quick absorption into the skin.   This quickly became a daily must have in fighting off winter’s harsh weather – and was like a huge daily drink of water for my skin.

Rejuvenate and Protect

The final steps to the Amarte regimen are rejuvenation and protection.   The Eyeconic Eye cream has an impressive 3.8% of stabilized retinol, with an epidermal growth factor, and unique delivery system – making it one of the most effective products of the entire range.   Finishing off this luxurious ritual is the Natural Finish BB cream, a sheer moisturizing face tint that I found to have more pigmentation and coverage than any competitors.

All Amarte products are available on dermstore.com, and range in price from $60-$110.
