If you are into Valentine’s Day chances are you don’t get up to the day’s activities without the perfect sexy scent. With that in mind, Maree, Felicia and I have selected two fragrances each, including budget friendly options, to share with you. Whatever your budget, there’s an option here for you because smelling sexy doesn’t have to cost a fortune.  6 Sexy Valentine’s Day Scents for Every Budget:

Maree’s Picks

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

Known for some of the most unique fragrance combinations, Jo Malone is always my go to for special occasions like Valentine’s Day.  The warm and rich notes of the Pomegranate Noir scent make it perfect for the winter time, while the spicy and intense ingredients make it incredibly alluring to wear.  There is not a day that goes by when wearing this that someone doesn’t stop me intrigued by the mixture and how it wears.  With top notes of raspberry, plum and pink pepper, the scent opens very sweet, but the base notes of patchouli and frankincense make it complex and extremely mysterious.  A dark bold lip and little black dress is the perfect complement.  Available at Nordstrom $60 – $115.00.

YSL Parisienne

YSL Parisienne

While most of my makeup colors tend to be the same (neutrals), I love a varied array of fragrance options.  Some sultry, some sweet, some feminine, and some masculine.  Since the previous fragrance was so rich and intriguing, this option is much more feminine and delicate.  Much more floral in its composition, it has a sweet dry down that wears incredibly well.  With notes of rose and blackberry, YSL Parisienne is the perfect scent for the woman who is ultra feminine.  A gorgeous fit and flare dress with lots of elegant detail and a soft makeup look is the a great match for a sophisticated valentine’s day look.  Available at Sephora: $39 –  $65.00.

Felicia’s Picks:

Oud Ispahan

Oud Ispahan

During  2013 I probably used this fragrance more than any other in my collection, it is that amazing.  Truth be told, I am down to only a spritz or two (gasp!). With notes of Labdanum, Indonesian Patchouli, Laotian Oud Essence, Turkish Rose and Sandalwood, Oud Ispahan is bold and intoxicating and never fails to  get complimented. It is a unisex oud that’s part of Christian Dior’s La Collection Privée. You can dress this up, down and sideways and still end the evening on a sexy note. Oud Ispahan $155,  Bergdorf Goodman 212 872 8980

ESCADA Born in Paradise

Escada Born In Paradise

For me this has become an unlikely favorite…blame it on the Polar Vortex or the spicy notes in the base of the fragrance. I usually lean toward heavier, more masculine scents but something about this vibrant spring, almost summery scent captured me.  See my full review hereAvailable at Macys and Ulta: $59

Christene’s Picks:

The des Vignes

The des Vignes

Caudalie The des Vignes, the dusk fragrance, is the handy work of master perfumer Jaques Cavalier. It combines a few of my favorite scents: jasmine, neroli ginger and white musk. I find this fragrance sensual, alluring and seductive with a bit of mystery. It lingers on my skin and simply transforms into something more amazing with each hour that passes. The finish is that of powdery, gingery, musk. With this scent, you can head out to dinner in a t-shirt, tousled hair and a bright red lip and still be super sexy. Available at Nordstrom: $39.

Love 2 Love Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa

Love 2 Love Collection

Valentine’s Day is all about love, so, a fragrance from the super budget friendly Love2Love collection is perfect! Love2Love ‘s Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa is a part of a four part collection of fragrances where each scent consists of two dominant notes.  Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa starts very fresh with notes of peony, raspberry and sparkling mimosa.  The middle of this fragrance has jasmine, sweet pea and honeysuckle. The sweet notes are anchored with musk and rosewood.  This Eau de Toilette wears for about 3 hours. I think Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa is perfect for the young or young at heart. Pair this scent with a fun flirty dress, light makeup and a pretty pink pout. Available at select Walmart Stores: $9.98

If you have managed to get through summer without baring your legs, I tip my top knot to you. While I don’t have the best legs, I brave the gawking in an effort to keep cool (and to some extent be stylish). This summer, three products, three steps (and a healthy dose of pop squats) have proven invaluable in keeping my legs looking their best.

Exfoliate: Caudalie Divine Body Scrub

Caudalie Divine Scrub

I like to exfoliate before I shave because I have noticed that it reduces the occurrence of hair bumps. Caudalie Divine Scrub exfoliates dead skin cells with sugar crystals and delivers great moisture through the use of four oils: grape, argan, hibiscus, and sesame. The scent is lovely combination of grapefruit, pink pepper, vanilla, cedar, and white musk. $38

Shave: Venus Olay Razor

Venus Olay Razor

The shave is an essential part of my summer legs. I’m not a huge fan of shaving but I have been doing it since I was about 15 years old because I don’t like hair on my legs.  I even shave in the winter.  I have come a long way from a one blade razor and soap to shave…to the 5 blades and built in moisturizers on the Gillette Venus and Olay Razor.  I don’t like shaving so the Venus is perfect because it delivers a very close shave and I can often get away with a twice weekly shave. With my legs exfoliated, the five razors on the Venus give me an extremely close shave and no razor bumps. I usually follow my shave with a calming toner just to be on the safe side. I use cartridge until I get a nick  – a clear sign to me that the blades are getting dull.  This is usually an average of 6 to 8 uses.  $11.99 Replacement cartridges: Pack of 3, $15.99

Moisturize and Glow: Caudalie Divine Body Lotion

Caudalie Divine Legs Lotion

Caudalie Divine Body Lotion goes on smooth and streak free to add a really nice glow and amp up the color on my legs. Let’s face it, I’m already pretty chocolatey, so, I don’t necessarily need the color. What I need is something that will impart a nice glow, a little shimmer and make my legs appear more toned — Caudalie’s Divine Body Lotion does just that.  It is formulated to work on all skin tones without streaking.  $38

Legs don’t have to be perfect to look great.  The key is to figure out the steps and products needed to enhance what you have and give you the added confidence needed to feel comfortable showing off your legs.

What are your secrets to great looking legs?

Admittedly, I tend to neglect the skin south of my neck for most of winter – as it is covered up under tons of layers, tights, coats, etc.  Then we get a warm day in NYC and I am forced to show my skin in order to avoid unnecessary heat exhaustion!  So, I need a regimen that will get my skin in gear fast – if not overnight.  Enter the Caudalie Divine Body Oil collection – AKA my summer skin savior.  I had the opportunity to visit the Caudalie boutique recently to experience the line, and the demonstration I received in store was simply amazing, so I knew my skin was in for something great.

Caudalie Divine Scrub

Divine scrub

The first product I used from of the collection was the Divine Scrub, which was frankly – quite divine.  I have always been a fan of sugar scrubs over salt scrubs as the healing properties and benefits of sugar far outweigh those of salt, so, I was thrilled to know that the formula for this scrub consisted of brown sugar and various natural oils.  The texture of the scrub is dense making it very easy to use without the dreaded fear of excess product getting everywhere in the tub and causing a possible slipping hazard, (experience talking here!)

Caudalie Divine Oil

Divine body oil

Once I finished my shower and exfoliation, I used the Divine Oil while my skin was still damp thinking it might need a few minutes to absorb.  To my surprise, the oil absorbed almost immediately into my skin and felt instantly dry – it was quite remarkable.  It left my skin hydrated and nourished without the residual greasiness or tackiness I have experienced with other dry oils.  Suitable for use on the face and in the hair as well, this is truly a perfect multi use product that will help nourish the body from head to toe.

Caudalie Divine Legs Body Bronzer

Divine legs bronzer

The final step in my winter to spring skin transformation was the application of the Divine Legs body bronzer.  Never one for these sort of products, as most of them rub off easily or streak in the most unappealing way, I was a tad hesitant to apply.  But with the amazing results I achieved from using the scrub and dry oil, I felt it was imperative I give this a go.  The color in the bottle is quite dark so I used just a small amount, and while it was slightly difficult at first to spread around, it quickly evened out and was simply beautiful.  I wore it all day and found little to no transfer onto my clothing – and it gave me just a modest bronzy glow that allowed those around me to avoid needing sunglasses just to look at my pale limbs!  For those of you gals with a medium to dark skin tone, this can really be an amazing enhancer after the beach or to prolong a vacation tan.

The entire Divine body collection retails from $38.00 to $49.00 and can be found at Sephora or Caudalie’s website.

Everybody showers, we hope. Below is a round-up of bath and body products for all the nice people on your holiday gift list.

Everyone loves a contest and this one is truly worth entering. Caudalie recently launched three fragrances, Fleur de Vinge, Zeste de Vinge and The des Vignes, (read my review here). Vino in hand, smile abound, in the wonderfully fragrant and relaxing Caudaliespa at the Plaza hotel, I was introduced to Caudalieʼs three new fragrances, Fleur de Vinge, Zeste de Vinge and The des Vignes. The fragrances will soon be available online at caudalie-usa and are currently available at Sephora, Bluemercury and select specialty retailers.

The three fragrance combination was developed for Caudalie to capture the essence of life on the Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, a vineyard owned by the parents of Caudalieʼs co-founder, Mathilde Thomas.

The dawn fragrance, Fleur de Vinge, uses top notes of grapefruit and mandarin, wonderfully balanced by the sweet subtle spiciness of cedar. If you are a morning person, you will love this fragrance. Fleur de Vinge starts off fresh but ends with a delicate sweetness. If you are not a morning person, this fragrance will give you a nudge to start your day.

Zeste de Vinge, the noon fragrance, is perfumer Francis Kurkdjianʼs interpretation of a afternoon stroll through Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte orangery, laden with citrus trees. Zeste de Vinge combines sweet lemon, petit grain and bergamot for a refreshing start, balanced with tangerine and finished with the tiniest hint of earthiness.

The des Vignes, the dusk fragrance, is the handy work of master perfumer Jaques Cavalier. It combines a few of my favorite scents: jasmine, neroli ginger and white musk. I find this fragrance sensual, alluring and seductive with a bit of mystery. It lingered on my skin and simply became more amazing with each hour that passed. The finish was that of powdery, gingery, musk. The des Vignes is by far my favorite fragrance from
the trio.

Try the Caudalie fragrance that fits your favorite time of day. Mine was spot on!

All three 1.7 fluid ounce bottles have a MSRP of $38.

[Editor’s Note: This is Felicia…I all but wrested Christene to the ground for her sample of The des Vignes. It is a must-possess scent]
