OPI Infinite Shine: The Long-Wear Lacquer That Changes Everything

Of all the first world  struggles I’m fortunate enough to experience, I gotta tell you — maintaining a chip-free manicure for more than three days ranks pretty high. Ugh, the struggle to hit day four free of chips, dents and dings is real. And as a new mom, who’s constantly up to her elbows in baby wash, wipes, and alcoholladen hand sanitizer — the “chip-free” odds are stacked against me. In an effort to maintain perfect nails for at least a week, I’ve resorted to gel manicures. And they’re actually quite effective. But again, as busy new mom (working mom) I don’t always have the time to sashay into a salon for a fresh set of nails, you know?

So as new, consumer-friendly, at-home, longwear, gel-like formulas make their way to market…. I’m always more than happy to test them out, because of everything I just said about desiring a chip-free manicure. New to launch, OPI Infinite Shine promises to be my perfect Manicure Messiah.

Available in 36 “that’s-so-OPI” shades, Infinite Shine delivers hidef glossiness without a trip to the salon and WITHOUT LED light curing (or the dreaded “soak off” when it’s time to remove gels). The shine claims to go strong until you remove it, or up to 10 days (whichever comes first). Well, game on – If anyone can do it, surely it’s OPI. I mean, these are the same folks who made Lincoln Park After Dark a classic. But, is it really possible to achieve the look and wear of gel without, well, gel?

OPI Infinite Shine

Day 1
As expected, I’m as shiny as a new penny. I expect nothing less on day 1.

Days 2 – 3
Believe it or not, I’ve actually been taken out of the game at day 2 before…but not with OPI Infinite Shine. It looks likes day 4 chip-free might happen.

OPI Infinite Shine

Day 4
Still no chips.

Day 5-7
Mom-life didn’t allow for daily photos…but at Day 7, I am without a single chip.

Day 8-9
I’m basically in disbelief. This is my only tiny chip.

Day 10
I’ve got better things to do than monitor my chips. But, at day 10, OPI Infinite Shine is still virtually chip-free

Bottom Line:
OPI Infinite Shine’s long-lasting benefits are really quite remarkable. And if it can stand up to 10 days of my super hectic mom life-slash-commuter lifestyle, I bet it can withstand your daily routine as well, and go chip-free way longer than whatever you’re currently wearing on your nails!
