Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: “Dangerous” Nail Colour – Act Two

Who says the sequel is never as good as the first?

Well here at ThisThatBeauty, things get sweeter the second time around!

Yesterday I went on and on like a schoolgirl about the rad-ness of OCC‘s “Dangerous” Nail Colour. I gave major props to “Dangerous” for being a great alternative to Hello Kitty “On the Prowl”.

Well…little did I know, the roles are actually reversed. According to the OCC record  books, “On the Prowl” is  an alternative to “Dangerous” and not the other way around. When “Dangerous” first came on the scene, “On the Prowl” wasn’t even a glimmer in MAC’s eyes.

Leave it to the CEO and Creative Director of OCC Cosmetics, David Klasfeld, to set the record straight on which polish started the trend.  According to David, “Dangerous” was introduced in 2007 as OCC‘s first ever nail lacquer creation. “Dangerous” was designed for the original Dangerous Beauty exhibit at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York City.

“Dangerous” was given out as swag in the gift bags and the OCC  team  actually gave manicures to guests on the show floor. At first “Dangerous” was only available in the Museum Gift Shop, but due to rave reviews and unprecedented demand, OCC made it available online.

Shortly thereafter “Dangerous” went on to be featured as MTV’s number one pick for Fall 2008 Back to School…and now here it is again, featured on ThisThatBeauty J

David thinks that MAC may have taken a note from OCC  in this instance.

Well ‘scuse me and shut my mouth!

David: We agree. OCC is definitely the gray trailblazer.  Thanks for setting us straight!

GIVE-A-WAY ALERT!!!

To show that there’s no love lost or hard feelings (all’s fair in love and makeup:)), OCC is sending three bottles of “Dangerous” loving our way.   That’s right, three “Dangerous”ly lucky  ThisThatBeauty bellas will win a bottle of “Dangerous” Nail Colour.

Ladies (and gents who wear nail polish – how you doin‘?), you know the drill:

  1. US residents only
  2. Leave a comment with your email address
  3. One comment per person
  4. Three winners will be chosen at random
  5. You will have until April 1 to leave a comment

Thank you David and OCC for a rockin‘ good give-a-way…and the education!

“Dangerous”ly in Love,

Felicia
