Forget What it Smells Like…How Divine is the Model?

As I was flipping thru the current issue of Allure mag, I came across an ad for Tom Ford’s White Patchouli.
Now I like fragrance about as much as the next bella, but it was the model in the ad that first caught my fancy.  I was awestruck by the model’s look of effortless beauty.  Ahhh, to wake up looking this divine… I wish…
As I combed the net to find photos to accompany a quick little TTB write up, I discovered a hidden gem.
The model in the ad is none other than
Ms. Bad A$$ Herself, Erykah Badu.
SHUT MY MOUTH!!!
Well rock on Ms Badu because this ad is PURE FIRE!
BEHOLD, the ad that gave me a momentary girl crush 🙂 –
Here’s how Tom Ford describes the fragrance

“For this project, I wanted to reinvent patchouli,(…) I loved the idea of mixing patchouli    with  white  florals. We used  patchouli orpur, which takes out some of the darker, smoky notes of  patchouli. We mixed that with peony, bergamot, and jasmine. Additional notes include rose, coriander, and ambrette seed.”

Lovely.  Of course I now have to add this to my perfume “TRY THIS” list.
If you’ve tried Tom Ford’s White Patchouli, please let me know.
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  • I too thought it was such a striking pic! I really stopped to look at it, because she looked so pretty. and now your telling me it the BAD-U? Crazy!!Thanks for sharing.

  • Glad to see she’s found work since end of the neo-soul boom. I think I say Maxwell with a squeegie out on the Ben Franklin Parway and let’s not even get into D’Angelo.

  • I had no idea that was Erykah Badu..!
I thought it was Chanel Iman..

    She looks great….

and Tom’s perfume is ‘ohhh sooo’ the Hamptons.
