Finally – Alicia Keys pics and my Concert Makeup Game!

So when its concert time or ‘going out’ time, if you’re anything like me, you probably obsess over what to wear. And when I say “what to wear”…you of course know I’m not talking about “wearing” clothes. I am talking about “wearing” MAKEUP!

Be it a night out with the girls or an event of some sort, the very first thing I think about is my makeup game!

What’s the look I’m going for?
What’s the mood I’m trying to set?
What’s the feeling I’m trying to evoke?

What to wear? What to wear? You all go through this, right? LOL!

So for the recent Alicia Keys concert I was faced with this dilemma. I must admit that for evening affairs I tend to go for my usually smokey eye and nude lip. I do vary my smokey eye tho…usually going with either blues, or purples, or greys, or black. But never gold. Somewhere along the makeup line I fell out of love with bronzey and goldish tones because this look just feels done to death for some reason. So I’ve steered clear of gold and bronze on the eye for some time now. This is just my personal preference.

Well twas time to dust off the ol bronze/ gold look for the Alicia Keys concert. And to be completely honest, I cannot take full credit for re-energizing this look.

A few weeks ago I had a makeup consultation with a very lovely bride to be. We talked through her makeup likes, dislikes, and vision for the big day….then it was time to do a trial run. For weddings I tend to play up lovely luminous neutrals, but this bride (whom going forward I shall refer to as “Ms Diva Bride”:-)) insisted on gold/bronze hues for the big day! Really, Ms Diva Bride???…Gold and Bronze, you say??? Well her wish was my command and she was over the moon with the look I created for her. We will indeed be recreating this look for her upcoming nuptials in July. Well Ms Diva Bride, you were my inspiration for my Alicia Keys concert makeup. You have re-opened my eyes (literally. see below) to the wonderful hues of gold and bronze. I have not used these colors on my own eyes in quite sometime. So thanks again to Ms Diva Bride for helping me switch up my own makeup game!
Below please find pictures of my Alicia Keys concert look.
