The first time I met Sam Fine I was wearing 4 inch heels, this meant I was standing about 6 feet 3 inches tall, a bit over his head. I was a little starstruck, so, naturally I wanted a photograph with him. When I attempted to stoop so we would be the same height, he said “no, don’t do that” and got on his tiptoes and took several pictures until I got one that was good. Every subsequent encounter with him has been just as memorable because he has a way of making you feel like you’re besties. In addition to his unmatched talent, I think that Sam Fine’s success as a makeup artist has something to do with his disarming personality, his genuine love of women and a true appreciation for beauty.
