A Maintenance Must

Regular maintenance. That’s today’s topic, folks.
Regular maintenance.
Regular maintenance applies to almost every aspect of our lives. Our cars need regularly scheduled maintenance like tune ups and oil changes. For the home owner sect, we regularly do sexy things like cleaning the gutters and fertilizing the lawn.
But what about your skin? Specifically, your face?
What kind of regular maintenance do you do offer your mug?

Of course we all cleanse, tone, treat, hydrate, protect, etc. on a daily basis, right (everyone’s nodding, I hope…I pray.). But what do you do when its time for a deep down cleansing of ye ol grill?
Well let me tell you about a service I have recently tried. Its called the Silk Peel. And it was skillfully performed by skin enthusiast, Michelle C.

What is a Silk Peel, you ask?
Well we’ll get into the specifics a little later. For now I will explain the Silk Peel as a breakthrough system that combines non-invasive exfoliation with the delivery of skin specific solutions to improve and revitalize the skin. Silk Peel does not use crystals or harsh abrasives like micro-derm. A specialized treatment serum is infused deep into the skin for maximum effectiveness. As vitamins and antioxidants are delivered, the hand piece vacuums out impurities while refining the skin’s texture. All of the gunk that’s vacuumed out is collected in a beaker-type jar for you to see what’s really going on under the hood. I found this to be the most fascinating part of the Silk Peel. I took a picture of my personal gunk (sebum, whiteheads, etc.)…and in the interest of TMI folks, here it is.
GROSS, I know. But this is what’s lurking beneath the surface just a plotting on all kinds of ways to jack you up when you’ve got a big date or your high school reunion in a few days.
And keep in mind, I am OBSESSED with clear skin so I’m doing all kinds of daily rituals to preserve my sexy. I hate to think what might lie beneath the surface if you’re slacking on your skin pimpin‘,
In addition to experiencing the benefits of the Silk Peel, I had the opportunity to interview Aesthetician Extraordinaire, Michele C., about the Silk Peel and other services she offers:

THISTHATBEAUTY:
Michelle, thanks so much for talking to ThisThatBeauty. Its obvious to me that your passion for skin care is what drives you. How does your passion influence the work you do?

MICHELLEC:
My passion is the fuel that makes me go above and beyond the call of duty. Staying aware of what’s going on in the industry, understanding everything, and breaking the mold in effort to raise the bar.

TTB:
What do you think sets you apart from others in the industry who offer similar services?

MICHELLE:
What sets me apart is my passion and my constant need/love for the evolution of skin care. I have infinite compassion towards clients who have been suffering and struggling trying to find solutions for their skin care needs. My procedures are dominated by science and I stop at nothing to find cutting edge technologies in aiding in achieving skin care goals of my clients. I have no agenda other then nourishing your skin until its as close to perfection as possible.

TTB:
Please speak to some of the cutting edge services you offers? Please also speak to the results these services offer?

MICHELLE:
My services are cutting edge on a whole because they are completely customized to your need. They are not generic machine like treatments. I do exactly what the skin needs in order to provide my client the healing the skin needs to achieve the skin care goals. I use top of the line handmade organic skincare products as well as the highest and most effective forms of technical implements available to the industry. Lastly I love what I do. It is not work for me. I consider what I do an art form and I feel blessed to share my talents for the benefit of others. I incorporate lymphatic drainage, which is technique used to carry waste out of the blood from the face to clear extremely congested skin. I also do high frequency which has two functions, to kill deeper levels of bacteria, as well as tto contract muscles and firm skin for a period of time. Like I said I do what ever needs to be done!!

And that’s exactly what Michelle did for me, “whatever needs to be done”. After completing my Silk Peel, and revealing the gunk that was sucked out of my skin, I was sold. That alone encouraged me to book my next appointment. At the very least, I know that that stuff has no business residing in my face. No ma’am.
Michelle is running a Fall special on the Silk Peel. Please call her office (212-673-7100) and book an appointment. Michelle is located in the brand new spa space of Rosemarie Ingleton Dermatology at 14 East 4th Street, in the chic NOHO section of lower Manhattan.
