ThisThatBeauty Reviews: Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist Lip Pencil

When I think of Sisley, my mind immediately goes to luxury skincare.  So when I received the Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist Lip Pencil, I was eager to experience the skin-loving ingredients that would be incorporated into the luxe lip product. The jumbo lip pencil has two active ingredients: phytosqualane, to maintain the suppleness and elasticity of the skin and commiphora resin extract, to smooth and plump lips to reduce wrinkle depth.  Sisley also uses a glossy ester complex that allows the lip pencil to glide effortlessly over the lips to deliver sheer but buildable coverage.

The first swipe of the Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist Lip Pencil revealed it was not your average run-of-the-mill lip crayon.  It was very smooth and felt as though it was hugging my lips. (Who doesn’t want a lip hug?)  The feel is very natural…almost like a supple second skin, it truly felt like I was wearing nothing at all. For someone like me who dislikes  the feel of heavy glosses and drying lipsticks, the feeling of nothing on the lips while getting great color payoff is a big deal. The formula allows for sheer coverage with one or two swipes to medium coverage with three or more swipes. The lip crayon easily wore for hours without incident — there were no gross white corners, product separation or bleeding. I had to reapply after lunch but I think that is to be expected (besides, can one have too many lip hugs?)

Everywhere I look these days there are jumbo lip crayons /pencils and I have tried several. Of all the lip crayons/pencils I have tried, in terms of lip feel, color payoff and length of wear,  I give the Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist Lip Pencil all the stars. Yes, all of them.

Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist Lip Pencil has a suggested retail price of $50 and is available in 6 shades at Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Sisley-Paris.com.
