#TTBFaves: Summer Favorites from Contributor Maree Sye

Though I welcome Fall with open arms, I can’t help but look back over Summer fondly and remember all the good times we had together.  The bright lips, the fresh skin, the tousled hair –  Here are some highlights of my summer favorites:

OCC Lip Tar in Grandma.  We are all familiar with my affinity for summer bright lips (if not, you can read my ramblings here), so I was excited to find a product that gave me an intense color pay-off, super long staying power, and little to no needed maintenance throughout the day.  A little goes a LONG way with any of the lip tars, so you can feel safe that what you put on in the morning will survive the heat of the day, any meals you may enjoy and any incessant talking about beauty products that you most likely will do.

Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion SPF 15 – The less on my skin in the summer, the better – and so combining my daily moisturizer with the necessary SPF that my pale skin warrants is ideal.  This is a product that has been around most people’s medicine cabinets at one point or another over the years, I’m sure, but I was pleasantly surprised to rediscover it this summer.  Lightweight, non-greasy and perfect under makeup, this moisturizer got my skin through Summer humidity or unbearable heat easily and comfortably.

 Neutrogena Anti Residue Shampoo – Clean, shiny hair is a non-negotiable in Summer, so I often use deep cleansing shampoos once a week to rid my hair of any residue and give my scalp a thorough once over.  A cult classic for many years with stylists and consumers alike, this shampoo became my go-to hair savior all summer long.  Gentle enough to be used on all hair types, this product leaves my hair feeling weightless and smooth.

Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB cream – Anyone who knows me, knows that I am anti-shine and constantly seeking out foundations or tinted moisturizers that help to keep me matte all day.  I tried this product on a whim, and was shocked at how flawless and shine-free it kept my skin throughout the day.  The texture takes some getting used to as it is slightly grainy due to the micro-capsules that self adjust to any skin tone, but the finished look is summer perfection.  Worn along or under another base, it was truly my summer skin savior.
